IMO you can polish up an old banger to make it look really good, but it's still an old banger. Take a closer look and you'll see the scratches and rust, the worn suspension, the leaky sump. And that lot most likely all have a leaky sump by now.
You can do a lot with make up and air brushing, but IMO this lot will look far far less mint in their ordinary lives than when glammed up for photo land.

...and there are a fair few low mileage classics out there that are stil far more desirable than the shagged out repmobiles that make up the bulk....
