More stuff,I did say it comes back slowly.

Met some great Swedes.

I overtook a Motorhome and gave a thank you wave for assisting my overtake.

Further up the road I've pulled over as the bootlid keeps popping open and I'm closing it yet again.

Motorhome pulls in behind me,3 get out to pee,4th bloke comes over to me,beer in hand, bit squiffy and we chat for 5

minutes about my car and other stuff.

Great bloke,really funny, from Gothenburg.
I've never met any great Swedes, but I once knew an amazing lettuce.

Dearest Leafspring, a word of caution if I may?

Do not be taking the steps to make yourself without popularity in your workplace. Do not be shining by soiling others.

Every one has complained about him... including the colleague, his mate who got him the job in the first place.

He's been warned by the manager twice already (most recently for having sick days and not calling in to explain why/what for)

I've cut him enough slack but he is now holding up progress on a large contract job and costing the company money as A) he's not doing his job and B) I'm staying on overtime to do HIS job (gathering the used grit for re-use)

Is there anyone about with a TV schedule for the week ?

I haven't got one yet and want to know when the world Rallycross is shown, hopefully not last night.

It's shown on Quest BTW.

Don't rant. A calm, well thought out explanation of your frustration will go further and be listened to much more. State the facts, back them up.

If people in the work place rant at me I switch off very quickly and just think it's emotion doing the talking.

Just my 2p.

Fair point... rant is the wrong word

I plan on starting the conversation by something like "Morning J... could you have another quiet word with D because..."

I tend to rant ,it gets me nowhere anyway as the manager, who is an arse, normally mis-understands what I'm

going on about too.

My manager is a good guy... he was the workshop supervisor & head chippy when I started and replaced the then outgoing .

He actually knows what us minions outside his office do and need... because he used to be one of us biggrin

One of our old Senior Engineers had a super way of dealing with Managers when they were being an arse.

He kept a large red fire-axe next to his work bench. When a Manager or even the MD came out with crap, he simply picked the axe up and threw it tomahawk-style across the workshop towards the twonk.

It cut the BS levels greatly. biggrin

I have actually done something today, eventually.

I have removed most of the holiday stuff from the car.

Can't quite believe how much stuff I picked up for free at the events.

An orange petrol can ,supporter flags for Audi and Peugeot,a Swedish flag discarded by somebody,a big pile of

drivers autographed promo cards.

Whilst i wait for my CoC to turn up from the MCA ive been looking at interim replacements for the saab until i can afford a nice chimaera 450 outright. I first started looking at XJR's but was swayed onto S Type R's due to a far stronger 4.2 unit and all the niggles being ironed out, this has lead me to eyeing up things such as:

2 coeaguea of mine had these. one came from an E39 M5. HR thought this was better. the other ditched it after a year complaining it threw up expensice service bills for items such as brakes. Both said it ha fled well, both said it felt a bit pkasticy inside.

Discs and pads are a touch more than the saab and I'll do servicing myself so it's a bit of a non issue tbh.

You ever get a go in one Russ?

Have you been drinking DMN?!

I don't think they looks so bad at all, and I keep hearing that they drive better than the E39 M5 but I have no personal experience of either. They are a lardy thing though, I think they are slightly heavier than the X350 XJR! Speaking of that car, that's the one I'd have. Been looking at these two recently, well, more like dreaming of them.

Edit: Just noticed you had ruled out an XJR. Were you looking at the X300 or X350 generations? Or both? The X350 has the 4.2...
