Have you been drinking DMN?!

I don't think they looks so bad at all, and I keep hearing that they drive better than the E39 M5 but I have no personal experience of either. They are a lardy thing though, I think they are slightly heavier than the X350 XJR! Speaking of that car, that's the one I'd have. Been looking at these two recently, well, more like dreaming of them.

Edit: Just noticed you had ruled out an XJR. Were you looking at the X300 or X350 generations? Or both? The X350 has the 4.2...
I looked at the lot but ruled out the xjr in favour of the s types brakes and adaptive dampers over air suspension. I'd happily have the last shape in black however but I don't have 17-19k lying around!

.. Not drinking, just tapping on a phone keypad. Proper keypad now!

....

GB, I don;t have experience of driving or being a passenger, the views I wrote were from conversations with these two chaps.

Ahh, that sounds fair enough. I have to admit I actually like the X350 over the X351 but that's just a personal preference. I'd take the latest shape supersports over both, but they are still quite pricey (what am I even saying, more like I'm still a broke student biggrin ). Whats the story with the brakes? Isn't it the same Brembo caliper set up on both?

The reviews from your colleagues and magazines etc all seem to rate it for sheer pace and handling despite being lardy with some niggles that 2004 onwards cars sorted.

The s type has 4 pot brembos with rather fetching logos, unsure on the xjr to be honest as I've not seen any close up of xjr brakes.

Will happily see 18 - 19 mpg if driven anywhere like it was intended. Near half that if you really do thrash it around an uppy-downy A road.

Sounds awesome, by my crude logic that's nearly 40mpg for 6 months a year driving. Plus it does have that supercharger whine, tyres aren't cheap mind but that's all good.

Same ones! At leas that's what the internet says. The S-Type sounds like a better choice though as you say it doesn't have the air suspension and I'm guessing it's more of a drivers car from what I hear. The XJR is a big old girl biggrin

All my driving is b roads, hence the s type and it'll be a step up from the saab overall. Not to mention 553nm over 370nm tongue out

I take it you plan to service it yourself?

Yeah, it's only a stop gap car for a year or two until I get a chimera 450. So maybe 2 services based on one every 6k as per my personal service intervals.

He was known for pulling a face when asked stupid questions in the middle of a rally.

Here's some of the stuff I brought back from Sweden.

I had to buy the comical bikini glass ,the number plates are highly prized, there was a rush to buy the 200 put on sale, for charity at 100SEK Sat years plate was double that price,at least.

The orange petrol cans were being given away, some people had 3 or 4.
