Alonso just went up in my estimation.

Now there's a thing.

Our old Mini van, Land Rover and BMC horsebox had ignition keys. The same one fitted them all.

My brother had a Rover 800 coupe. He parked it at Heathrow, in the Multistorey carpark. On returning to the car he plipped it and another Rover further down the row flashed and opened too.
I wrote an article for the AMOC about the DB7 called A Car for All Seasons. One of the aims of the article as far as I was concerned was to borrow a Works demonstrator every twelve weeks. The first three seasons went fine but borrowing the fourth and final car was proving troublesome. I needed to keep on at them to lend me a car without pissing in them off. Eventually they called to say I could have a Volante for the weekend but it had to be back by 8 o'clock Monday morning, no ifs or buts, clean, full of fuel and ready to go. On the Sunday we went out to take yet more photos. As Mrs C climbed in my neighbour came out to admire the car. As we talked I took off my jacket, put it in the boot, shut the boot lid and locked the keys inside.

Ah.

The DB7 was the first fully Ford managed Aston and it had Ford locks. I asked my neighbour if he had the keys for his Orion. He laughed and said he did but he thought the chances were a bit slim. They worked, I retrieved the keys, took the pictures, had the car back to the factory on time and, assuming I'd used up all my good luck, didn't do the lottery for weeks.

Either it was a one in a million stroke of luck or all those Ford keys opened all locks.

I was told all Ford Tibbe type keys will lock any other but not necessarily open them.

This might explain why on the very first day of owning my Cosworth I had to break a window when the only key that unlocked it was inside with the engine running .

ION the Spa 24hours is about to start on Motors tv and it's wet.

Interesting....scratchchin

I spent this evening with a firefly charmer.

Very effective he was, too.

Do you remember that I asked you about the Audi windows closing on the key?
Well mine doesn't so asked on an Audi forum and hopefully when I try their recommendations it will.
Just sayin.
With mine you hold the button down until the windows open. Or close, depending on which button you are pressing.
This guy reckons that at on stage the battery has been disconnected and the key needs reprogramming to the eu , strange.

He ran out of go in his car during qualifying and set about pushing it back to the pits on his own, shaming the marshals into helping him. I may have to revisit my Alonso-is-a-primadonna opinion.

He did a Nigel Mansell.

I re assessed Alonso some time ago, seems not so bad since Lewis gate blew over.

Apparently he can't stretch to a jacket and tie combo either.

If I'd known this was occurring I'd have popped down to the LTA and lend him some suitable attire.

I was going to wash the Fiat today to de bug the front end mostly but I couldn't find my bottle of Autoglym bug

remover magic potion.

Until I find it,it'll remain the great unwashed.

It's the only Autoglym product I've ever bought.

It's very good for bird pop as well.

I don't think Autoglym do a Bird Poop Remover.

I watching the Blancpain GT race at Spa and as always, I'm struck by how awesome GT cars look. The BMW in particular, I'd love if they made a road inspired version of that.

Bird poop gets removed pronto as it can damage paint if left too long.

My Fiesta once got absolutely plastered in it at work once,it upset me a bit seeing it so bad.
