Tell us something really trivial about your life (Vol 26)
Discussion
An email this morning announced "14 more employers in your area" so I clicked the link. In the wilderness of jobs no one would ever want was "Crime Scene Assistant." So I clicked that and there was a subtle change in the job requirement; it now read "Crime Assistant." Hold up! One more click and I would be lured into a life of glamourous lawlessness.

Another vertigo attack this morning. They're coming far too regularly. After the initial room spinning part has calmed down to feeling light headed and being prone to losing my balance, I'm okay sitting down. So I would be able to work but I wouldn't be able to drive. Being able to work but not being to get there might prove to be bit of a problem.

If they're doing a bring and buy for Cobras could you try to get me a 289? A few year's ago I would have wanted a 427, but times are hard and I'm a bit older, so I think a 289 will be fine.
I've put you down for a 289 in a 427 chassis. This will be our little secret. Even Cobra aficionados are unaware of this fine distinction.Edited by DickyC on Saturday 29th August 16:05
Geek Corner
The featured cars in Monte Carlo or Bust were Cobras under the skin. Shepperton Studios needed specials made for the film and, with AC just around the corner, disguised Cobra chassis and running gear were the answer. After the film many of them were converted into almost Cobras.
I'm fairly certain I didn't make this up.

it's awful isn't itI was lucky, a colleague would drive me home & stay over when I first started with the Labyrinthitis
In Gloucester I made sure the hotel was walking distance & now I'm a train journey away, no driving.

Why can't you ever find the verniers when you need them? Must have 2 or 3 knocking around the workshop. People never put stuff back where it should be. I think I'm going to start a fine system for when things aren't put away correctly.
Riches, I tell ye. Riches beyond belief.
A related gripe; the batteries in digital calipers are always flat. Trivia; annoy engineering pedants by calling digital calipers digital verniers. Riches, I tell ye. Riches beyond belief.
