This is the Barchetta I mentioned the other day.

It's a scruffy Herbert.

What a poor old knacker. We have a red one here in a similar state, even the boot lid doesn't shut.

What was the owner attired in? I think you really need a chauffeur's outfit or be sporting an outrageous Jason King look(cravat, suit so sharp it will cut you, frilly shirt) to get away with it. Awesome looking bit of design even now though.

A mate's Dad bought his from the Duke of Westminster. In BRG with a cream interior, it looked stunning with those huge wheels. He drove it down to the Riviera to see us, which almost doubled it's mileage.

He paid £8k for it back in 1990.

Welcome to Trivial Towers. One day all this will be yours. Including the Lagonda.

We should stress it's a bit scruffy.

Thanks for the Aston pic, iva. It was an era of the V8 referred to as Oscar India for reasons no one can remember.

A thug in a Savile Row suit, as someone once said.

Press launch on October 1st '78 wasn't it? Not terribly meaningful but allows you to pretend to be a beard.

I'm pretty sure that engine had some sort of mental maintenance schedule which made them entirely impractical for big millage's, timing chain type of thing maybe.
