Hmm...I like Feta, but I also like Halloumi. Especially grilled Halloumi.

But which is best?

Awaiting the Reading train, I just had a drink in the pub nearest Blackwater Station and I realised I hadn't been in there for 44 years.

Because old.

When I mentioned this alarming fact to the landlord, he said, "Don't leave it so long next time."

The job of the planners at work is to provide drop offs and pick ups as close together as possible to ensure smooth progress for the drivers and therefore the business. On Monday I dropped off in Exeter in Devon and picked up in Bodmin in Cornwall. Today I drop off in Bracknell in Berkshire and pick up in Purfleet on the Thames Estuary. I'm not saying I could do any better but that's their job.
Sorry to but in on your thread but.....

I worked for a similar company last year for a couple of months and they were just as bad, if not worse!
But I got paid for every hour not just when I was driving.
I worked out that they paid me four times more for not driving than they did for driving. No idea how they stay in business!

You are most welcome, ss. New blood always required.

That's very interesting. The myth is they get 50p per mile and pass on 27p per mile to the drivers. It turns out, on investigation, that it's more like £1 per mile to the company and 27p per mile to the drivers. That gives them a whole lot more slack to play with.

Just seems that you'd be lucky to clear £150 a week ,if that after travelling expenses.

They reimburse expenses that they believe to be valid.

But, yes, my net pay (net from them, I mean, gross to me without stoppages) has been £138, £348 and £86 so far.

Had it been £350 per week consistently it would have kept the wolf from the door. So far the wolf hasn't made his move because he has been laughing too much.

Within living memory I have made £350 a day.

You can remember making more, just not when, or you made more money in a previous incarnation? wobble

It's a blancmange. Or a fire extinguisher.

No! No! It's slipping away.
