Spotted this today and am not sure whether to stick it in the Supercar or Classic thread. You're right, Supercar - it's a 2000 GXL after all.

Beddington Zero Energy Developement.

Except it's not strictly in Beddington which is up the road but HackZed doesn't really work.

You're thinking of the Taunus, the contemporary version of which looked like a 'tina Mk3 that had consumed too many pies.

Taunus did a fastback version of their version of the Cortina IIRC. (Everyone follow that?)

The fastback Granada was a good looking car. I saw one advertised as being, "Like a DB6," which was a couple of steps too far.

That is rather a stretch.

Louche lounge lizards in loon pants, medallions and chest merkins would have been beating them off with a stick in one of these. Trivial motoring fact; Taunus is a range of mountains in Germany, I'm now imagining the sales potential of Ford's project archbishop if it had been marketed as the Ford Pennine.

If you care to read the Standing Orders, in my absence, or if I am otherwise incapacitated, Senior Members take turns to wear the big hat. Today it's a Mr Roper from a Principality south west of Liverpool.
