Pikes Peak - 14,110ft

Box Hill - 735ft

Pikes Peak isn't even twenty times higher than Box Hill.

It's only 19 and a bit times higher. That's all. Hardly anything in it.

Been thinking tonight, anyone been to Disneyworld? They have a lovely smooth monorail system running to the magic kingdom. On the weekend I went past some fields that were covered in solar panels, I thought to myself what a waste of a field! We have the docklands light railway with a lot of elevated sections, why not build a monorail system above major roads in London? It would move people around quicker, it's clean, other transport could still move underneath, How come no one ever suggests this for moving people around?

I went to see SPECTRE this evening; I hope I'm not giving too much of the plot away when I say that the good guy wins. Very noisy, lots of explosions, cars destroyed, incomprehensible in places, an assortment of apparent in-jokes/nods to the books and the cruelest misuse of a BN Islander I've seen in many a year. The ladies look lovely and mercifully are not required by the script to screech. That bloody car appears again.

We have a sharp frost here too, y'know. But we will find a way of coping and not making a big fuss. Somehow.

I knew a lad who went to live and work in Norway but came back to Rayleigh in Essex to look after his aged parents. He hadn't been back long when the snow came and, being England, everything stopped. I know, he thought, I'll ski into Southend. Marvellous. He got there, the snow melted and he and his skis had to go back on the bus.
