We have a neck pain expert here. He may be along soon to offer good, effective advice. The rest of us can only make sympathetic noises.

Are you there, GOG? Allanv needs your words of comfort.
6.30 am I was enjoying the joys of the M62/m60 on my to Macclesfield.

Neck pain is a literal pain in the neck, the only thing that touches it for me is gabapentin, have a chat with your GP and see if it is suitable.
Gabapentin sent me on the road to nuttersville so ditched that and tramadol a long time ago via cold turkey.

I take co-codamol and Meloxicam now and this allows me to keep working.
But this morning was very hard and sore so woke early, very damn early...

Thanks for your thoughts though, much appreciated.
The neuro surgeon was quite surprised that I was completely functional on the dose of gabapentin I am on, I get the impression that I should be completely wasted, but I am fine smile
for me it was not good but for others it is great, I am glad it works for you just wish it did for me frown
Next damn pain clinic is April.

MRI
CT
Acupuncture only got me radio 4
Physio - Puts me out of work for a week.

But it has been this way since 2003

Thinking you were a genius.... but then I remembered my profile! (volvo went years ago)

It's the Triumph - very old school. Bits had found their way to the crank so crank regrind on the cards, but hopefully get away without a rebore.

tip - don't look up when under the engine removing the oil pump wink

I have spent all day removing my car's engine to find out what was wrong...... this.

Ouch, how did you manage that?

I've spent all afternoon removing 28 sparkplugs nestled in the banks of a radial engine, with a comedically long socket and several temper tantrums, so I could dose all the cylinders with oil and free them off...

ION, I was turned away from the doorstep of a house party last night being hosted by some old coursemates - "because we think your political views are unacceptable and we don't want it to cause an argument with other people inside". There really are some pathetic people in the world...

I have only been like this 6 months, but my neck is fubar, the neuro surgeons are going to open my neck up, chop the disc out and then fuse 3 vertebrae. For me its not just the pain in my neck its my thumb feeling like it is made of wood, the weakness in my arm, and the weird thing where bits of my arm are at the same time numb and hypersensitive to pain.

There are only two acceptable viewpoints for student spongers to hold; shouty agitprop slightly to the left of Mao and keeping your mouth shut. Being even vaguely informed about reality, questioning dogma and wanting political solutions that actually work means you leave a smell behind you worse than a dead dog. Which camp do you fall into?

That's utter rubbish, a good number of the students I know are more than a little right wing and more than a little vocal about it.

Those that don't know when to keep politics out of the conversation wouldn't be welcome at any house party of mine either, and by the sounds of it these old course mates of CC's have come to the conclusion he doesn't know when to keep his mouth shut.

The clue is in the name, house parties are supposed to be parties and therefore fun, not places to have political arguments.

Blimey it was windy in Westbury on Friday. This bloke was in trouble even before he decided to tack to starboard.

Here's the thing: Lewis is letting Nico win by a teeny bit. Now that the championship is decided, Hamilton allows Rosberg to think he's getting faster and then next season Hamilton blasts away into the distance leaving Rosberg at a psychological disadvantage.

I already had this theory based on not much and then yesterday, after qualifying, Hamilton didn't have a face like a slapped arse for coming second.

My prediction for the race is Rosberg first, Hamilton second by six seconds.

Wise man say.....Don't fly your flying carpet in high winds in Westbury.

Another late Sunday start for me,got up at midday.

I should be a student.

I don't have any controversial political views though.

Close, but no cigar.

Next season we'll see if I'm right.
