I'm looking at this for use in the car - hoping a lego style car or sat nav mount might be a hit on ebay after the 6 point rule kicks in.

Ok, it's not a purchase or in any way frivolous, but it's something I know (most of) you lot will appreciate it.

Many years ago when the corks crew ride at AT Theme Park was taken down (trying to be a bit vague as I don't want this appearing in searches) my lovely Father In Law happened across the site on works business. He was given this item, one of it's wheels, by a worker. He brought it home and I loved it. Everyone else was distinctly unimpressed. FIL joked that as I was the only one to appreciate it I could have it when he died. Sadly he did pass away a few years ago and it's taken until now to actually find it in his garage. Other half grudgingly handed it to me over the weekend (still unimpressed) and it's currently residing on the bookshelf.
Needs a proper display to do it justice so any ideas appreciated.

What a great concept!
They were after $8000 of crowdfunding, they now have over a million! 13464% of target. Good luck to them! smile

Fascinating. I have a relative that works there and she happened across the log flume remnants yesterday, she's going to ask if there is anything small she can have.

Yes, I like that! Could 3D print a stand and get a perspex box. Great idea! Thank you.

I guess it will be handy to send pictures to the kids at home, from my phone...

This IS the frivolous thread...

So it's a plotter, like we had 30-odd years ago? How innovative.

Yeah, I kinda got a bad case of buyers remorse last night and downgraded them to a £1 contribution. Probably for the best, especially when questioned by the missus.

Surely it is "You guys are trying to bring a product to market that I might be interested in buying. Here, have some money so that you manage to do so."

I now see it as:

"I rashly backed you, and now realise that if the wife finds out I'll get even less sex than I do now, for quite a long time. I'll quickly change the contribution down to £1, and hope she doesn't notice that on the credit card bill."

A friend of mine was offered a 5 year old Ducati that has only delivery miles. The owner doesn't ride, but spent over £20k on the bike as something nice to look at in the hallway of his house.

Your friend sounds like just the sort of chap this thread is for.
