More frivolous purchases, stuff you don't need..

Yep, its a 3ft long pulse jet!! Really didnt think anyone would get that as all the gubbins on the front makes it hard to recognise. To start it you are supposed to connect an HT source to the two ends of the handle then carefully thread the now sparking other end up the tail pipe all without electrocuting yourself.
Couldn't find a video of that particular type in action but its very similar to this -

A while back i saw a 1.6m long valveless one on fleabay, it was up near warrington (im in Hampshire), the wife happened to be on a business trip up north so called her and asked her to divert to pick it up. More rolling of eyes when she got home and endless merriment amongst her work mates. The noise is indescribable, even with ear defenders on its verging on painful.
Here is a valveless design someone has mounted on a gokart - skip forward to 1m in.

Erm......what you gonna put it on????????
Dunno, ... seemed like a good idea when I bought them... am quite tempted to try it on a go kart tho.My wife just rolls her eyes and prays the kids don't developed an interest in my lunatic hobbies.
Made some rocket candy a couple of weeks back (look it up on the interweb as I don't want to get into trouble here listing details about such things). She asked what on earth I was cooking in the frying pan (on an induction hob to reduce the catastrophe risk), wasn't impressed when I explained.

That just looks so cool, love collectable stuff like that!
It's only the PC version you can pre order right?
I don't even have a PC and yet I feel like ordering one!
No, it's available for PC, XBox One and PS4. Exclusive to Game in the UK, and Amazon in the USA and Canada. It's only the PC version you can pre order right?

Hurry though - the first batch sold out very quickly, and the second (and apparently final) batch went on sale today. Game's website has been up and down like a tart's knickers all morning over it, but is just about usable enough to order now and there are still some left in stock.

Thanks Jon - just ordered one (PC edition). Was a bit torn between PC or XBone, but opted for the former due to inevitable mods and my PC is a pretty decent gaming spec.Hurry though - the first batch sold out very quickly, and the second (and apparently final) batch went on sale today. These will fetch a hefty premium come release I reckon (not that it's the reason I've ordered one)

I presume you're familiar with Colin Furze? If not, he's done a lot with pulse jets all of which looks hilarious fun.Couldn't find a video of that particular type in action but its very similar to this -

Yep, been a subscriber to his utube channel for ages. If you pick through his videos there is one of him peeling burnt skin off his arm after a mishap with a fuel line. Ive lost the hair on my arm a few times and come close to burning my eyebrows off. I have a real hankering for an Argus type valved PJ like this one which is mounted on a snowmobile, its in Swedish and you need to jump through to 1:30ish. No idea what id use it for tho... and the neighbours might get a bit pissed off as the Swedes say at the end of the clip that they has a noise complaint from 7km away...

filski666 - cheers but having too much fun with them at present. You can get a little valved PJ from hobbycraft for about £100 i think... let me know if you need a link.
