I recently purchased the Bose Q25 and they really are impressive; they were on special offer in Best Buy (US) when I was on holiday butty the time I got there the were back up to $329 so I tried the Bose outlet store and managed to pick up a factory refurbished pair for £140 which I was more than happy with.

Quite impressed, need a proper screen though and a ceiling mount thing.
Just need a suitably cheap screen. Anyone recommend a freestanding screen?

I thought I'd be able to use my dads old cine film screen, which hasn't seen the light of day since the 70s. It was a lot bigger when I was a kid wink by the time I'd shrunk the image to get it all on the screen it was smaller than my TV lol

Russian submarine clock. Slightly drunken purchase it must be said. Saw an expensive one in a trendy shop then found this on line later.......
I know that it probably never graced the metal walls of a Soviet sub because there seem to be many more of them around than there were Soviet submersibles BUT if this one is totally fake then it is outstanding.
It has knackered luminescent paint on the hands that looks frightening, the mounting lugs are broken and there's traces of green paint on the back of the case. Oh and it weighs 2kg.
Also it keeps time.

That's very cool - fake or not, if it's a nice thing, then enjoy!

Looking on eBay there's lots of them listed, most are just cheap chinese copies, yours looks much more convincing.

Did you put it up while drunk as well? wink

Sublimely cool if it is genuine and still cool if not!

Cheers all I'm particularly pleased actually. As far as my research can discover it was made in 1978 so since the war was pretty cold around that time I'm calling it genuine, probably not from a submarine but stock or a spare from a time when it might have been. The recent modern copies some in cardboard boxes that reference The Hunt for Red October and the clocks have "Made in Russia" written on them.

I have no need for a 1960's travelling bar & games set. Nor can I play gin rummy. But I think it'll be very useful in the Land Rover.

Or if you do check out radium first.
Its because of that stuff and an old compass I got my username. frown
I managed to inhale some a few years ago, still waiting to see what damage has been done.

Just me being a prat dealing with stuff I didnt understand.

I had taken apart an old compass and was cleaning it up on a wire brush sander and polisher, sending bits of the stuff flying into the air.

Stupid thing to do and I'm no doubt going to pay for it.
