I was none the wiser to this until recently. I became mates with a chap who runs a trainer shop. Although humble and unassuming, it was only when he bought a fair chunk of the night's rounds that I discovered he's made millions in the process at mid-30s. The shop has close relationships to secure this limited edition stuff. People will queue all night outside to get in the doors for special early opening days that occur when these limited editions come to the market.

Whole thing was hugely enlightening and I was staggered at the popularity of a pair of training shoes.
Quick update...

Had one of these fall off in the middle of the night making an unholy noise and shocking me awake in a highly unpleasant manner.

Swore never to use those sucker units again.
I've got this one too.

It fell off about 8 times in the first day with just a bottle of shampoo.

Now it's got all 3 shelves full and hasn't budged in 4 months. Great purchase!

I went for Plum Jap in 10ml... Resisted temptation to order too many, but now I'm tempted again. I want to try Oud Wood, Neroli Portofino, Tuscan Leather, Italian Cypress...

What are your views on those? I don't seem to have a 'type'... Current favourites are TF Tobacco Vanille, Creed GIT, Dior Homme Parfum, Penhaligon's Blenheim Bouquet, and Penhaligon's Sartorial.

I guess I don't have a type either, so I keep buying the small bottles. If the 1mls are nice I'll get a larger bottle but TF are too expensive for me to buy the variety in full bottles. Scent Samples keep sending me special offers so I have a habit of adding new ones. Mrs Toasty is now in on it too, hence the Jasmin Rouge and Fleur de Portofino.

Oud Wood, Neroli Portofino, Tuscan Leather are all good, as is Tobacco Vanille. Italian Cypress a little too close to RL Polo which I already have.

http://www.basenotes.net/forums/17-Male-Fragrance-... is a great time killer if you're after something new.

Cheers! I am enjoying decants actually, I must say. Less 'investment' when you might get bored.

I actually have 200ml of Tobacco Vanille(!), so that'll last me ages. I get bored easily, so try and mix it up!

Looking forward to seeing what Plum Jap is like, having never smelt it before. (I always find trying scents in the shop is a dangerous game - too many factors affecting it, and you never get to properly see how it develops)

I managed to get hold of a pair of Adidas Yeezy boost 350 and 750's for retail (around £150 and £250)

Sold 350s for £500
Sold 750s for £894

mental.

I was after a DAB radio with Bluetooth for my kitchen after one of the speakers on my Philips Boombox stopped working. I didn't plan on spending quite as much as I did, but the sound, especially for such a small unit was in a different league to everything else I listened to. It has a really rich and well rounded sound and looks and feels properly premium. It's hard to believe the sound it produces is coming from just 1 small driver.

I'm genuinely tempted to get another one for my bedside table as an alarm clock.

Ruark R1 MK3 - £199.99

Just bought this:

To replace my beloved and missing Leatherman Skeletool CX.

Frivolous as I've already got 3 or 4 swiss army knives and a Leatherman Crunch.

The Uuni2 is cheaper but doesn't look as sturdy. I'm tempted as I love both Neapolitan pizzas and outdoor cooking but I rarely use my charcoal Weber bbq as it is. Hmmm
