This is true I may have the same one as the op. Looked around for ages for one that looked like the chrome would last and was nice and solid.
Or go for this german one - https://shop.niewiederbohren.de/produkte/duschabla...
Bronze, and with easy fitting!.

Why would anyone pass up the chance to break out the frivolous drill??

I'm not sure you fully understand the point of this thread!

Your rather tragic mistake was pausing for thought before clicking on PAY . . .

I have just bought a "ice bucket table".

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Keter-Cool-Drink-Storage-...

Because it was cheap on Amazon yesterday and I'm planning a bbq this weekend.

It's fabulously naff.

I ordered a robot lawn mower yesterday. Totally frivolous - my lawn isn't actually that big, and really does only take 15 mins to cut - which probably includes getting the lawn mower in and out of the shed. Mind you, it will avoid the trips to the tip to get rid of the grass cuttings, so think of the petrol money it will save.....

Every time I see someone post up one of those multi tool thingies, I think "must get me one of those" but just before I press "pay" I think " what am I actually going to do with it?" and back out. so my question to all you multitool fans is.......what do you actually use it for?
It's not what you will use it for, it's what you might. If yo think of the possibilities you could need one, you'll agree it's absolutely essential you get one. Now.

Another mistake may be in thinking there's only this type of multitool.

...when, of course, every man, woman and child also needs one of these in their lives.

Indeed.

If you are thinking "what would I use it for?" then you're in the wrong thread. hehewink

Talking of fools and their money, today I bought a pair of these. Went in for a pair of Fairtex, but these were just so soft and lovely cloud9 (coz that's what you look for in boxing gloves).

Reminds me of these

Today's Leatherman application...

In fact, I'm going to go so far as to say the Leatherman has no place in this thread. It's not frivolous, it's as down right essential as a pair of shoes!!

Exactly.

I would also add that a survival whistle and emergency firestarter could be considered frivolous for something that is unlikely to leave the house.

ok, i agree and am looking at hennie.com right now - but i have a question. which *one* should i start with (accepting i may get more later) - the most useful day to day, smaller rather than massive would be good, and value for money as a 3rd consideration.

suggestions please biggrin

Doing it with a Stanley is like cutting ice compared to the serated blade on a Wave.

I'd also have walk back to my toolbox for the Stanley...

Choose the one that looks best.

You will end up with more so it doesn't really matter where you start.

Wave is the one that outsells all others in range and always had done, the BMW 3 Series of the Multitool world.

Would love a Ti one... scratchchin
