Sure, the first one you buy is.

The second, third and fourth ones though, are a bit frivolous.
hehe

That i can identify with.
ok, i agree and am looking at hennie.com right now - but i have a question. which *one* should i start with (accepting i may get more later) - the most useful day to day, smaller rather than massive would be good, and value for money as a 3rd consideration.

suggestions please biggrin
Choose the one that looks best.

You will end up with more so it doesn't really matter where you start.
Wave is the one that outsells all others in range and always had done, the BMW 3 Series of the Multitool world.

Would love a Ti one... scratchchin
Thanks guys thumbup - I agree, the Ti Charge looks smokin

To slightly against the frivolous bit of this thread but is there a good alternative to a leatherman? They are a little on the rich side for me at the minute

I'm still using a cheapo one I got from Muji many years ago. Keep meaning to buy a proper one as they are so damn handy.

Gerber do some good stuff.

I have this one, which I got in an Amazon Lightning Deal about 2 years ago. I've been very happy with it.

Skeletool is a cracker and if you buy the carbon fibre one it fits this thread perfectly!

Good luck with that, Mine went back for repair 3 times and still does not work properly. The batteries can't handle the vibrations and end up popping the spot welds on the bottom.

Best to buy the Fein Multimaster

Ok, perhaps not massively frivolous and it could be argued that I do need it.....Anyway, just bought the Secrid card RFID card protector.

I bought it because It has a cool lever operated card release mechanism that fans the cards out for easy pickings.

Who doesn't like levers??

I have the slimwallet version as I couldn't do without a place for cash and extra cards. I'd originally bought the double one but it was just too thick for me so I gave it to my dad. I added a velcro sticky pad as there's no closure on the slimwallet fortunately a self adhesive velcro dot doesn't even look like an after market addition. The leather isn't too tough as it's so thin for it you look after (I don't use it in pockets with keys and change) it it will be fine. You'll find them cheaper on Amazon.

My Leathermans are great, but this is the one I take to work every day. I've used it nearly every day for months and it is very good.

Cheers all, might take a punt on the wingman and see how it goes

If it gets a lot use I can upgrade in the future and leave that one in the car

Thanks - that looks good, but doesn't seem as insulated as the Roccbox, plus it doesn't have the adaptability of gas or wood burners included, so I am thinking the Roccbox is still the way forward..
I can't seem to find any concrete information on a release date or delivery times for the Roccbox. I'm tempted by one but don't want to wait several months for delivery
I was on the preorder list for one of these. Placed my order on release day and was told sometime in June for delivery. Haven't checked the website or Facebook page for a while but might be more info on there. It looks like they took quite a few preorders so if you ordered now I think you would have to wait a bit longer.

They are quoting July '16 for orders now - hope it isn't too much after that or will miss all the summer! wink

Not a frivolous purchase as such, but my 2nd Generation Motorola Moto G bricked itself tonight, and Amazon have a Deal of the Day running on the Wileyfox Swift today for £99.99, so new phone arrives tomorrow. Yay!
