I've just bought this 3000 lumens headlamp torch thing. CREE XM-L T6 main lamp and two 2 CREE R2 side lamps, and 2 rechargeable 18650 batteries with 2,000 mAh. I don't even know what most of that means, although I think CREE means "really bright"?

I have absolutely no need of it as I already own two bog standard LED headlamp torches.
Currently £10.99 in an Amazon Lightning Deal, usual price £13.99
I can confirm it is really bright, as will anyone around here who have bumped into me wearing it. Though to be honest up here on Skye it's not frivolous with eighteen hours of darkness in mid winter it's pretty much essential for walking the dogs and doing stuff outside. There's not a lot of light pollution around here so some nights you can't see your hand in front of your face. I use mine daily so it's not frivellous(Inferior blenders would require stuff being fed in in stages), but well done. Excellent purchase.
Just be sure not to overheat you're cocktail. All that power comes at a price!

Im no audiophile by any means, but i wouldnt pay THAT much money for something which has the speakers so close together it is effectively mono, not to mention the diminutive size pretty much ruling out any serious low frequency result..no need for it but it looks great and sound great
I get that streaming audio and all sorts of apps is all the rage these days, but id take a chromecast audio with a pair of decent bookshelf speakers for 100 quid over this thing any day of the week

Ti Victorinox Rambler by ALM Knives. Don't think he'll mind me using his photos. Riveted and screwed scales.
Next on the list is a Ti Compact. Link to his Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/ALMknives/
and his ebay http://www.ebay.com/sch/almknives/m.html?item=3816...
(I have no connection to ALM other than a Ti fetish)

I know next to nothing about speakers etc. Would you stick a couple of links up for some decent bookcase speakers for that sort of money.I get that streaming audio and all sorts of apps is all the rage these days, but id take a chromecast audio with a pair of decent bookshelf speakers for 100 quid over this thing any day of the week
Amazon preferably.
Cheers

I know only slightly more about speakers then you do, and maybe the 100 quid comment was a bit optimistic, BUT:Amazon preferably.

Q acoustics 3020: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Acoustics-3020-Bookshelf-...
Are supposedly the best buy in the budget audiophile segment, at 200 quid a pair still quite pricey mind you
The 3010s: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Acoustics-3010-Compact-Bo...
Are also supposed to be quite good, and only 140 quid
review for both: https://soundreview.org/audio/hi-fi-speakers/q-aco...
Mind you, those would still require a (decent) amplifier. For the hypothetical 100 quid chromecast setup i would personally look at these:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Edifier-Studio-1280T-loud...
Built in amp, rather versatile (you can use them with another amp as well if you so desire), remote control for volume, and supposedly best in class sound, and bundled with a chromecast audio would yield a complete setup for just over 100 quid

Cheers, I'm no audiophile full stop. The bottom set look ideal for my purposes.
ive just been researching options for the last while, i want better audio then my crappy 8 year old panasonic 5.1 home theater job, preferably a good stereo setup with nice looking speakers. Im currently contemplating a $25 lepai amp from china and a pair of second hand speakers and a chromecast, should be easily upgradable, and cheap to dick around with without remorse if it doesnt work.Just ordered a $24 stereo amplifier from china: http://www.aliexpress.com/snapshot/7737633482.html
Apparently the sound quality on this one is supposed to be quite a bit better then the popular tripath T2020 series based amps, and ive got a spare 65w 20v laptop adapter to power the bugger, which should allow me to drive quite a lot of noise through some speakers.
Next step will be buying/building a pair of speakers, ive got two decent alpine car speakers (which should work well enough with this amp) and plenty of MDF, so i might give it a shot myself, or i can pick up a pair of speakers for 10-30 bucks used...
Oh, and a chromecast audio presumably
