A pair of these to finish my 70s costume for Goodwood Revivial biggrin

The red ones. They are a limited edition by Marc Jacobs (number 3 of 500) and have a rrp of £650 yikes a fact I did not pick up on until the cashier showed me the original ticket. Good thing I was charged a significantly lower price! biggrin

Fair play, those Edna goggles are top frivolity. Limited edition, only likely to be used once and discarded casually in an intoxicated state of disinterest. Brilliant.

Somebody paid top dollar for those and is probably chuffed with them hehe

Dunno what the other 499 fashionistas paid but I thought the £20 I forked out at the sunglasses outlet shop was actually quite steep! hehe Mind you, they are pretty weighty and well made. They have a couple of crystals missing which should be quite easily replaced. Once they have served their purpose I might stick them on Ebay and see what happens.

Just following on from my purchase yesterday of a used Daskeyboard S Pro with Cherry MX Blue keys, I have discovered that there is quite the "scene" for after-market customisations of such keyboards with alternative keycaps readily available.

Right now I'm considering the frivolous purchase of replacement W, A, S and D keys in red.

I know my post is the complete opposite objective of this thread but I bought a Cobra gaming keyboard that had red W,A,S and D keys. I have swapped them for the black keys that came with it.

Not sure the keys will fit your keyboard but happy to post them to you when I am back in the UK after 15th August. Send a pm with your address if you would like them.
Slightly off topic but my frivolous logitech g710+ mech keyboard has got a loose ESC key and broken F5. Any idea where I can source replacements? Red would be nice having seen those!

Thank you for your very kind offer, and sorry for not replying sooner. I haven't been able to find out if the Cobra uses Cherry MX keys (or compatible) so I don't know if they will fit or not. But if they will fit then I will happily take them please. thumbup

I've just returned from a trip to Florida and initially I was half-tempted to purchase an Apple Watch when I was over there but having read the reviews decided against it. I was browsing this thread and it gave me the inspiration to buy one of these -

I absolutely love it! My dad worked abroad when I was young and always used to bring us gifts when he came back home; I remember spending a lot of time marvelling at in class, and spending hours playing with the stopwatch to see if I could get it to stop on .00, as well as using the light under the bed covers.

Certainly cheaper than an Apple Watch and has probably given me more fun.
Excellent, who'd have known my initial post would inspire. I thought I'd be laughed off the thread because it wasn't a Breitling or Rolex.

I've just ordered some sewing scissors in the shape of a heron. I have bought them for my friend who doesn't sew and hates herons.

I read that as heroin.

I think it says more about me than it does about you, would be the ultimate frivolous purchase though.

Why would you do that? It seems pointless to buy a present for someone who you know will not like it. They will instantly discard it, you are out of pocket and they have a present they do not like confused

So instead of thinking what they might like, you found what they dislike and bought that confused

I just don't understand people these days.

Who hates herons? I can understand having no particular feelings for or against herons
