Ive decided i want an impact wrench, i want a mains powered one though, battery tools always end up with a flat battery in my ownership.
Why not go all in and buy an air compressor and a genuine "windy gun" (as Edd China calls them)?

An air compressor would allow you to buy loads of other frivolous attachments for it in future too. biggrin

I bought this whilst at a motorcycle show yesterday - only just noticed the spelling mistake on the Rothmans logo across the front so now extremely pissed off.

Now I have got it home I am not sure where or when I will wear it.

I would be happy to move it on if anyone wants it.....

Are you sure it's a spelling mistake, and not where the left leg of the M goes where the zip is?
I spoke to the guy from who I bought the item from who told me that it was an exact copy of the original Rothmans Honda Racing team clothing.

He said that the zip, when done up, is the other part of the M.

Wasn't 100% certain he was correct so I googled the original & he was correct so all is good.

Apart from me being unsure as to when I will actually wear it!!!

Definitely an option, BUT only practical when i get the garage back in order for serious projects.

The corded impact gun was an idea for if i decide to drop my 147 down 30mm (as i dont really want to deal with 14 year old suspension bolts by hand)

Some of the smaller compressors are very portable yet still up to the job. Not *that* much much less portable than a corded tool. evil

(Not that I am being an enabler here or anything) smile

Yeah but... why would i want a small compressor when i can have a big one right?

Ill be sure to check it before buying a corded impact gun though, air tools do open up a lot of options

EDIT: yeah, just figured out that a compressor means i can have a pneumatic tacker... sounds like a good plan

This month has seen this:

Which is entirely frivolous as I already have a 18v Ryobi impact wrench. The new one is up to 400nm though, my old one was 250nm or so - that's my justification.
See:-

Ooh... I may have to get one of those in the grounds that my Rolson one (I know, I know) can't undo any wheel nuts without you helping it out by slacking them off first, and has a NiCd battery that weighs a tonne.
I bought my R18IW3 from Amazon, I already had a 5.0ah battery and charger to go with the other One+ tools I have (the weedier impact wrench (BIW180) and a drill (RCD1802)) so it worked out relatively cheap.

If you're buying all of the kit to start with, the 4.0ah batteries can be had for about £60, the 5.0ah ones are about £90 and the charger is around £30.

Those who ordered a KAISR, did any of you pay on credit card? If so, are you still waiting for your refund?

I don't have any Ryobi stuff at the moment unfortunately. I'm pretty sure Costco do a big Ryobi bundle so I may cast my eye over it and price it up - my current toolset is rather motley; a collection of Bosch stuff (of differing generations, each with different voltages, so not very modular), a Black & Decker Li-Ion cordless hammer drill, and the rest of my stuff is corded. Plus the aforementioned Rolson impact wrench.

It does look like it comes pre-crashed, not one of the better Technic sets imo.

Guys, slightly off topic, but valuable. I have a row of sockets in the man shed on a timer, all the rechargeable(s) are plugged into it, and get about 2 hrs per day re-charge. When they’re not being used as tools, mostly winter time, I will grab hold of them occasionaly, and run the batteries down a bit, as I understand it’s better for them to have a charge/dis-charge cycle.

Depends, are they NiMh or Li-on batteries?

It really does look as bad as that - hence I decided not too part with in excess of £250.00 on something that looks as though it has been crashed at the Nurburbring!!!!

The Bucket Excavator is a far better purchase.

Anyway. Back to my Rothmans soft shell thing that I posted on here yesterday.

Anyone want to take it off my hands? Tried it on again last night & it looks ste. Way too big for me.

The company I work for is recruiting into the Sales team, can you send me your CV for consideration please?

hehe

(I did the same with the Wookie / Han Solo reversible hoodie, but managed to get what I bought it for.)

I think the Porsche takes a bad photo, it looks great in real life.
It doe shave technical features, engine, paddle shift gearbox, suspension, steering but it's all hidden. I wavered for a long while before ordering but I'm happy with it. It's very strong money though.

It does, but compared to the price the tech features are a bit light, especially considering the gearbox shifts out of order when following the book, and is apparently prone to not working smoothly.

Stuff like steering, fake engine with a diff and independent suspension can be found in sets a 5th of the price.

The technic 911 is the first set I've specifically bought as an 'investment' rather than as a set to enjoy...

Bucket excavator is on my Christmas list though!

It looks like a cheap Chinese version of a Transformer toy.

I don't understand the fascination of such overpriced rubbish.
