So the wife's Surface Pro has been having issues with the power button recently and wouldn't turn on this morning so ordered her an SP4 replacement. Where is the frivolity you may ask. My SP didn't need replacing but cant have her outgun me...

Mine is the i7 obviously biggrin
Good stuff. I'll probably end up with a Surface when my Macbook Pro dies. Or maybe before...

How is AC on the X1? FM6 is very much my thing, is AC much harder?
I'll let you know when it lands from Amazon, I wasn't going to pay high street prices when it could be had for £30 online.

FM6 you don't need to know how to drive.
AC you do need to know how to drive.

I'm going camping next week, and after being let down by an ebay seller on a new LED lantern, and being uninspired by the stock in Go Outdooers this morning, I returned again to the internet to buy a single lantern. Unfortunately I bought a load of tat, a wireless mouse (£2.40), a cree led torch (£1.90), maglite LED conversion (£7) and an led lantern (£6). The ridiculous thing is these will now probably arrive after my camping trip, and i expect the mouse won't even work. Still all worth a punt.

Thanks to currency fluctuations they gave me back ten pounds more than I originally paid.

So..... I got my refund! Well, all bar £3.51 of it (due to 'PayPal fees'). Better than expected!

Really liking it so far, massive upgrade compared to my original Pro.

Yup, that pretty much sums it up now that AC has arrived!

Ive read people claiming it is poor on consoles though, poor polish and framerate drops, someone even said that game-polish wise Project-Cars is much better... (which from reviews i found not good enough compared to FM6)

Looks wise, I only have FM6 to compare it to, but there is no competition, FM6 knocks it into a cocked hat.
However, I can mash a P1 et al around a circuit on FM6 without any trouble, on AC, however, you really do need to think about what you're doing, really.
So I got AC because of the sim nature.

I damaged my LGA1155 motherboard upgrading the CPU from the existing i7-2600K to an i7-3770K which I bought on eBay

So, naturally, rather than replacing the motherboard, which is obsolete and hard to get hold of, I bought a brand new 8-core i7-6900K, new motherboard and, since I can't use my existing 32GB of DDR3-1600 memory, 32GB of new DDR4, and a CPU watercooler too.

It was rather expensive.

I had been thinking about getting a sports watch. I was annoyed because my £100 fitbit can't go in the pool, so I can't track my heart rate. I probably swim about 10x per year.

I bought a Garmin Fenix 3 HR. The one thing it doesn't do is record your heart rate in the water. So I bought the Triathlon HR belt to go with it.

They were in a flash sale on Amazon.

Probably means I will now buy the Garmin Vivosmart HR+ to replace the fitbit too.

Fitbit just announced a new tracker that will track swimming (flex 2). Doesn't do heart rate, though.

Yes. I saw a email for that after I had opened the Garmin.

Also I have tendinitis so the most active thing I'm doing for a few weeks is hobbling.

Thinking of that, though the new Polar M600 looks funky, and is more expensive, hence more frivolous smile

Keep meaning to post this. I have a subscription to collect these gold-plated coins with famous steam locomotives. £40 a month I'm paying, but don't want to stop because I want to fill this tray, and I'll also get a free display case at the end. How's that for a frivolous purchase?

My OH did some dusting over the weekend and just had to clean the Mission sub-woofer with the grill off handily putting her thumb through the rubber cone mount. The whole surround system ran off of this.

All the excuse I needed to get the Naim Mu-so I was after. smile

Heard mixed reviews about them, some not that good.

So ehhh, you happen to have a 3770k lying around correct?

Ill swap you my 3470 and a space 3240 for it! that adds up to an i8 6710!

I've got the Mu-so Qb which performs similar. Everyone who's heard mine thinks it's pretty insane sounding - very loud from a small unit. I personally don't think it has the adjustability required to command its price (it's too bass heavy with some slightly muffled mids), but still wouldn't change it for anything else!
