Not sure exactly why I felt I needed this last night... If I'd had more than the one beer it wouldn't need explaining in the same way.

Transparent Practice Padlocks with 12pcs Lock Pick Set
Just bought that smile And as I was there added: http://www.banggood.com/Credit-Card-Lock-Pick-Set-...

That website is FULL of stuff that you want but have really no use for.
£14 from Amazon for the lot and no waiting for China shipping :
20-Piece Lock Pick Set with Transparent Padlock and Credit Card Lock Picking Tool Kit by LockCowboy + Guide for Beginner and Pro Locksmiths https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01CHWIP32/ref=cm_sw_r...
I know this is the frivolous purchases thread, but, i got that and the credit card lock pick set, plus expedited shipping (i know, it won't really be any different) for £11.89. I can't afford to throw away an extra £2.09 on stuff that will just sit on the shelf. hehe

As its windy today i went to Aldi and got a kite. Lasted all of about 35 mins before the stitches broke and the poles feel out....

You knew Aldi sold Kites?

I am baffled to whether I am in awe that you knew this, or mildly troubled.

I'll get back to you on this.
Sadly its nothing exciting. I spotted them the other day and GF said I could not have one as would brake. Now I do, She was right its broken.

Oh, was tempted by the lock picking stuff, but thought about the reaction from Ms SJ16v.

Titanium Zippo
lovely lovely things - i have one too smile. do i smoke? no. but always wanted a zippo. then i saw the solid titanium one - how much nicer than brass etc and bought it. many years ago. of course i still hanker after a normal brass one too biggrin

i actually thought they'd stopped making the titanium ones and as 'rare' items, they were being advertised on-line - i have seen them for £300 on ebay.

Purchased. Had some vouchers to spend and this should keep me entertained for a while.

Yep, the genuine ones are no longer available and seen one on ebay for £440 eek

Found some Chinese outer cases, ordered one of the cheaper ones. Gonna get a butane conversion to fit in it.

I don't smoke either.

IIRC I paid £60ish when I bought it - which i thought was quite a bit, considering the brass ones were £15-£20 (and more especially as I didn't smoke).

does this mean it's not a frivolous purchase hehe

can't sell it now (not that i'd want to, it's lovely) - it's an appreciating asset wink

I always doubted the usefulness of the clear padlock, but it has improved my technique no end, and even the "pocket" pick set is better than expected!

Does it work better in the UK now? I got given one when it was released and although quite cool didn't really work unless I wanted to listen to American radio.
