I really like that. It would be worth it if I did extreme sports but alas I'm boring.

Out of interest, what number is yours (on the back of the casing)?
I seem to have 1 of 168 (founder edition). I think it says founder edition, something like that.

On the very slight chance that the brand does really well, I might keep it. I'll pop it in the loft tonight. wink

A small parcel turned up at work today, in boring white plastic packaging. Opened this to find a boring white cardboard box, opened that to find something a bit more interesting biggrin My Croft watch via Kickstarter ( LINK)!

I'm really impressed with the presentation.

Initial thoughts are you can tell the price point, but it feels well put together and is exactly what I wanted, something that looks good but I can be a bit more careless with. I love the look of it, as good in the flesh as it is in the pictures.

It's a bit bigger than I had in my head, but still well within what I like. Although with my girly wrists I'm going to need to make a new hole in the strap so it fits me properly hehe
I got mine on Sat too, which was a pleasant surprise. I had the same as you, but with SS metal bits. I'm not sure when I'm going to wear it though as I have a Pebble for day to day, and a nice watch the missus bought me when we got engaged.

My Dad might get it for Christmas.
A pleasant dilemma to have!

Out of interest, what number is yours (on the back of the casing)?
Mine also arrived, pleased with it, mine is a 'founders edition' I believe from the kickstarter notes they're all numbered 1 of 168.

Thanks chaps. I wondered if I had got lucky, but figured that was the more likely scenario!

Padlock and picks just turned up here too.

Got the padlock open on the 4th or 5th try...good value at the price it is, the padlock looks cool!
I don't know if every one is keyed the same, but the bitting on mine is quite shallow, meaning I managed to rake it open in about 5 second on the first attempt.

It'll be useful to use for getting to know the feel of pins, feedback and false sets though.
Mine has (in order)
medium
shallow
shallow
deep
not quite as deep

Feeling the pins is useful but my major issue is pushing the shallow pin closest to me as i pick it too far and wedging the lock shut. About 80 of all delays are that i have over pushed a pin rather than missed a pin out.

For reasons i am unable to explain my mother has told me she has a bag of padlocks with no keys which she will leave with me.

I just need to in some way rant about what the fk is wrong with her that she has a fking bag for life full of bloody useless padlocks.
This is a woman so unecombered by materialism that she kept only one of my school photos and burnt (not even binned - fking burnt) the rest when she had a clear out.
A woman who has no emotional attachment to stuff or things:
Teddy bear got torn, chuck it!
cup chipped, yep fk that away to the trash.
School photos - burn them, i'll keep the one where he's actually smiling.
Clothes she's not sure about (not just hers, any that are in the house) - charity shop.

Useless old padlocks: "do you know what, i'll keep them."
WTF??!

The worst part is i can't even pull her up on this behaviour, because, i fking want them to practice on and not having any keys makes it even more appealing so she is completely justified in fking keeping them. rageragerageragerage

Re the CROFT watch... Does anyone else's day not change at the same time as the date? I haven't RTFM yet, but would be good to know.

Personally I think it's alright, but not quite what I was expecting.

Took about 20 mins to get the hang of mine, but after I got the knack I could get it open in seconds. Almost got it done without looking too, but today I can't do it at all. The L shaped leaver has bent (the smaller one) and the bigger one seems too big. Getting really frustrated after making such good initial progress!

Try the torsion bar from the card set. I find that easier to control the pressure.

The problem with being an auctioneer is I buy st I really don't need. Tonight's purchases were a pair of new, unused sennheiser RS130 wireless headphones.

I don't have any neighbours so music volume isn't an issue. They were very cheap though!hehe

And a new, unopened Sony MP3 player with wireless headphones. I have an iPhone which I use for music. Again, it was cheap and I have a drawer with some free space.hehe

It seems to do it over a period of an hour or two. There weren't any destructions with my one, so just fiddled about as normal and thought I had it fine. Have realised I have it at the wrong cycle currently, it changes at 12:00 - 14:00 rather than 00:00-02:00.

Is it just me, or is that a bit... naff? Ok, so mine's the same as that. Couple that with the box being broken on arrival and the reasonably rubbish look of the watch (e.g. the buckle being huge), I'd say this was definitely frivolous as I won't wear it.
