So, originally I was going to be very frivolous, by ordering a LaserDock, which is a music-driven dongle you can plug into a laser projector. I didn't have a suitable laser projector but they have built the dongle functionality into a reasonably good projector and it was only $399 with the offer they ran in their campaign.

However, I then decided I didn't want to be tied into a particular projector, so I had a rethink which led to me becoming extremely frivolous and going for the LaserDock dongle only and a Kvant Clubmax 1800

And I don't even work in the lighting industry. This is all just for home use silly

Will be good for firework night, Christmas, New Year and Birthday parties, though biggrin

I already own a Logitech Squeezebox Classic pluged into the HiFi, but saw this and thought it looked like a bargain. Its the same as the Logitech bluetooth adapter at twice the price, and this is only £17.

Plugs into the amp and is now streaming Qobuz from my Surface Pro or my phone. Sound is bloody good too.

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Bluetooth-Streaming-Wirel...

Chromecast Audio does the same job but over WiFi, you can group them together and they all play at the same time. Because they don't stream from your phone if you're playing stuff like internet radio and you turn your phone off it keeps playing until you tell it to stop

I'm no chef, but I'm bloody glad I bought the missus a kitchenaid (ours is, I'm told, Pistachio...).

Really, really nice bit of kit. Stunningly well made, we got a pasta machine as a freebie (ha! As if!) that weighs a bloody ton, and I've actually managed pretty good tagliatelle and lasagna sheets.

Like it so much I've actually asked for an attachment or two myself.

They are good. That cookbook though: is it pure frivolity (looks pricey!) or is there actually anything you could attempt in there?

I'm not really sure. A lot of people said that about the alinea book (which I just grabbed too haha) and I came across a few sites like: https://www.allenhemberger.com/alinea/ where amateurs try and recreate as much as possible.

I'll need to pick up some weird chemical ingredients, a suis vide and a dehydrator but I figured it would give me and the mrs an interesting hobby to do together. Plus we're eating there in January so hopefully can get it signed and have it as a strikingly beautiful momento!

I was looking for some cheap winter wheels and tyres.

Then I saw these. They were neither cheap, not suitable for winter. They will only be on the car for a month or so before I need to put on the winter wheels. Which I still don't have...

I usually hate aftermarket wheels but that is very cool, not tatty nor cheap looking.

£500 on a handluggage case? You are certifiable hehe i was looking at a new one after Ryanair destroyed mine on Saturday after forcing me to put it in the hold and was baulking at spending £100.
Fortunatly on Amazon deal of the day it was £250... So a litttle more reasonable...I fly a fair bit for work (no Ryan air) so fingers crossed I get a fair bit of use out of it smile

If you want to see really crazy pricing ..check out this TUMI carry-on for a cool £2.5k .... Now that is really OTT.. What makes it even crazier, is that the bag weighs over 5kg even though it's carbon fibre - I always thought carbon fibre was meant to be light...

For some reason link just redirects to the home page but if you go to carry on luggage section and sort by price you can see it..

Is it actually any good for typing on? Looks like it would take a lot of getting used to.

I do like the look of that keyboard. Unfortunately I can't use one, 17 years of typing the letter "Y" with my left finger rules it out for me... I've tried to retrain myself but I just can't do it, muscle memory and all that. I guess that would truly make it a frivolous purchase if I got one!

I can do about 60wpm on a normal keyboard though so I'm not too bothered. smile

If you look up "frivolous" in the dictionary, it says "the act of purchasing a high power laser for no good reason" wink

If it isn't there already, I think we should start a "show me your laser" thread...

my typing speed is currently varying for quite a lot to about 1/3 wpm. It's quite erratic and taking a lot of practice. Still experimenting to find a decent position.

You know what to do wink

Definitely ranks as one of the most dangerous and irresponsible purchases I've ever made.

It actually scares me a bit.
