I already own a Logitech Squeezebox Classic pluged into the HiFi, but saw this and thought it looked like a bargain. Its the same as the Logitech bluetooth adapter at twice the price, and this is only £17.
Plugs into the amp and is now streaming Qobuz from my Surface Pro or my phone. Sound is bloody good too.

Wanted one of these for years but have no real need for it apart from casual gaming and occasional visits to Second Life.
I was espousing it to a friend who also goes onto SL but who also heavily uses Blender (ie. has a much better justification for one) and ended up instead convincing myself.
£95. Arrives on Tuesday.
Excellent! These began life many years ago as the Space Orb - I had one for playing Descent. Took a while to get used to it, but it was like nothing else. Now it's all growed up and gotten serious I was espousing it to a friend who also goes onto SL but who also heavily uses Blender (ie. has a much better justification for one) and ended up instead convincing myself.
£95. Arrives on Tuesday.

So, I haven't bought a bridge or a tank or a giant statue.
In fact, though I wanted to, for a couple of complicated reasons I haven't bought this outright either.
So for now I have entered into a joint project syndicate on....
The last Sea King ever made
Built in 1990, written off in 1999, stored for many years and finally scrapped in 2013 with only the cockpit saved.
Look out for a thread soon in Boats, Planes and Trains
This could win the thread? In fact, though I wanted to, for a couple of complicated reasons I haven't bought this outright either.

WTF can you do with that

It almost looks like it should be on 4 wheels already?
Come on CC, get it running on the road chap!
It is awaiting restoration, once mounted on a display frame it will just about fit nicely onto a large car transport trailer - its not as wide as you'd think. It is, however, quite tall, and will be even more so when the intakes go back on the top!Come on CC, get it running on the road chap!
Once resotred it will go onto the cockpit show circuit - look out for it at Cockpitfest 2017, as Newark Air Museum
Here's a thread on it as promised:

Frivolous in so much as I already have a perfectly decent set of speakers for my small digs in Germany, but I just couldn't resist these...
Acoustic Energy AE1. Design unchanged for nearly 30 years. Complete with original (bloody heavy) stands.
They were A LOT of money - to the point that my good lady wife (who is normally completely tolerant of my gadget frivolousness) was very much not happy with me. But my goodness I certainly now understand what all the fuss was about. Stunning little boxes. Just perfect for a 30m2 bedsit.
So, anyone want a pair of completely mint Monitor Audio Bronze B2's?

Rebuild or sitting on it?

Whats happening with the engine you bought?
Rebuild or sitting on it?
That's proceeding - very slowly, but proceeding. Due to still not having the floor space in the workshop to get the trailer in - on which the engine will be built up - I'm reduced to amassing parts at the minute so that I can blitz it when the time comes. I'll be updating that thread soon!Rebuild or sitting on it?

Just bought a Real FX Racing starter kit, as they're going cheap at Argos (£34.99 from £99.99). After a bit of digging they are on clearance because they have licensed it out to Hotwheels (fair play to them).
Original PH post about them HERE.
Frivolous purchase thread strikes again... another one ordered here (although slightly less frivolous, as it will be wrapped up "for the kids" for Christmas!)Original PH post about them HERE.
