Windows 10 upgrade finished downloading, so obvious time to buy a 250GB SSD and a standard 3TB drive. No point throwing away the pair of old 1TB drives though so may as well put them back the in the case as well.

You could make the 2 x 1TB drives into a RAID1 array. smile

Pah, I raise you a 512GB msata SSD which I bought to upgrade my new laptop - which is still in its box 4 months later.

Is it not already full power? The vast majority of people don't want to go through the ballache of getting a full FAC.

However, guerilla tuning is another thing. I remember, when I was a yoof doing clay shooting, one of the guys brought a highly modified(in his garage) air rifle, which was so powerful you could hear the crack and the "following" throuth the sky...

Had this about a year. Don't know why I bought it, guess to relieve my late 80's youth but its turned out to be great!

Thought about that but they're different manufacturers and fairly significantly different speeds. My understanding is it's best to have identical drives for a RAID array?

Might have to buy myself a new CPU cooler though as the current one's a bit noisy. £20 on a big heatsink and fan or £50 on a liquid cooled one with a remote radiator? Pointless to ask on this thread hehe

Ah, right. Sorry. When you said "a pair" I just assumed they were the same. Yes, it is best to have identical drives as the RAID array will be as slow as the slowest drive.

The sound quality is surprisingly good, just plonked it on the wall next to the Weber as I was bbqing, perfect. It feels very solid. Total bargain.

Recent frivolity from me

PS4 which of course needed three games and an extra controller even though the games are single player, oh and I then needed the fancy wireless headphones and membership so I can play online.

I also definitely needed the Reebok pumps I saw in a shop on my way home as I was never allowed them as a kid!

Pics to follow.
