Douwe Egberts capsules aren't bad, not sure how the price compares in the uk, in Belgium they are the same price as genuine Nespresso ones but you can buy them in the supermarket

That's the big draw for me. I can never be bothered to arse around with the Nespresso website, and orders and delivery and the like. I'd rather throw a few boxes in the trolley whilst shopping in the supermarket, or add something to an Amazon order that I'm doing.

I've tried the capsules from Aldi recently (£1.79 for ten) and found some Carte Noire capsules cheap (£1 for ten), they're Ok especially for the money. I've never tried an original capsules as I use the machine we have at work and they're too expensive for my meagre salary !

Interested in your thoughts about this when finished. I have no use for one at all but want one.

Is that a printed out version of a 3D printer ? I love it.

My wife said this was a frivolous purchase, however a 114cm high rocket for £10 is anything but in my opinion.

What pods does this use? Krups?
It's a Nespresso. There's a couple of clues in the picture. Good machines.
I saw the nespresso bit but wondered which model as there appears to be a few...

I take it these are better than Nescafe Dolce Gusto machines?(girlfriend has one of those)

Is it only Nespresso pods it takes then? WTF is the Krups all about? I have literally no idea!
Nespresso is the system, by Nestle. The machines are made by various companies such as Krups or De Longhi, however the internals of the machines are identical - essentially the internals and the pods are the 'nespresso' bits...

I've tried all the different pod systems (nespresso, dolce gusto, tassimo, etc.), and for me the nespresso pods are the best. The machines are also pretty cool with various types to suit the type of coffee you drink - for example, the inissia posted above is perfect for espresso or Americano drinkers. I like latté and frothy milk coffees as well so bought a latissima plus which has a detachable milk carafe you keep in the fridge. One button and it'll make the perfect latte or cappuccino every time. Or, as mentioned you could go for a 'and milk' machine which bundles an espresso machine with a milk frother...

There's a fairly long thread on the food and drink forum about them, including a chap overseas who works for them.
Thanks for taking the time to explain that Sway, i didn't have a bloody clue before. Think I will buy one beer
Just a heads up, these are £69 in currys at the moment with the aerchinni thing. A friend bought one today and loves it!

Careful, it's a bit of a gateway bit of kit.

Before you know it you'll have Hue/Hive, a Harmony hub, smartplugs, motion sensors and be genning up on IFTTT.

I know this is the frivolous thread -- but what are you actually going to print?

Customized smartphone cases and keyrings are fairly popular for entry-level machines.

Print 3D printers, thus saving us the need of putting them together!

I'd like some finger armour.

http://www.shapeways.com/product/4XN8H6P4A/fingera...

There are loads of things on the shapeways website that I would like to buy, but they seem expensive. It would be interesting to see how much in materials some of these things would cost to make at home.

To be 100% honest i dont know what i will print with it, i bought it more to get my hands on the tech to play with it.

And the good news is that it works

Yes i know its a boring thing to do as a first print but it shows that it works
