Just bought this Belstaff jacket from Van Mildert in Meadowhall, they're closing down so have good discounts on if anyone wants anything. I got almost 35% off.

Linx Vision 8 tablet

Been wanting one for a while but they have always been £100-£150. Got a like new one for £70 from Amazon (same price on ebay) a couple of days ago and happy to report back that it streams Xbox One very well. Installed Steam and Origin and started to download some previously purchased PC games which seem to be working ok.
Tonight I will be testing PS4 streaming as they have an app for that on the Sony website.

https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/offer-listing/B0187U2M...

I bought one of these for my nephew when they went down to £99.99 just before Christmas. I was so impressed with it I bought myself one. It's amazing how well Windows 10 runs on such modest hardware. Just dont open loads of HD youtube tabs at the same time and you will have very few frustrations with it.

I highly recommend a programme you can download from Steam called Controller Companion. It will let you play games that have not been set up for the Xbox controller and set up short cut keys to emulate a keyboard. It can also turn the analogue sticks into a mouse, which you can use like an IBM/Lenovo style trackpoint. I also got a cheap bluetooth mini keyboard, which is also useful for setting up games. You can set up a hotkey to activate mouse mode on and off. I think I use the bottom right button held down at the same time as the left pointing controller button on mine.

I installed Fusion Megadrive emulator and an emulator for the Gameboy Advance and a few games. The set up works really well for Road Rash II, Sonic, Desert Strike etc. Road Rash is so much fun biggrin. My nephew likes playing Pokemon Emerald on it.

I found Opera browser works better than the rest on low performance Windows hardware.

You can set Windows to use the SD card as a hard drive so you can install Steam and games on it directly. There is a problem with using 128mb SD cards in that they periodically disconnect. You might be ok with a smaller one. There is a way around it by using older drivers, but it results in much slower performance from the card. I'm using the older drivers and I don't think it really makes much difference to the usability unless you are copying massive files over. I might be able to find the link to the drivers I used if you like?

Just remember to switch Steam to offline mode if you want to play Steam games out of the house!

Now my kids can taunt Alexa.
Hope you didn't pay more than £120

Must admit, I got an Amazon credit card with $70 credit and 5% cash back. I then paid about $100 each for the speakers and $50 for the dot. So, all in about $180. I plan on using the speakers for more than just the dot, but for now they keep the kids entertained. The sound quality is surprisingly good for what they are.

bks. Bloody Royal Mail. That's the lazy Sunday building a Porsche out the window. I might be able to sort it with a bit of heat, but waiting to hear back from the seller. Will just have to peruse the internet for more frivolous purchases in the meantime.

It's been a frivolous month.

Had a perfectly good TV unit but fancied shifting the living room around so I bought a bunch of IKEA stuff that I didn't need. Also, the LED strip arrived:

Also found a clock that I rather liked:

Not a bad shout. Just waiting to hear back from the seller. Hopefully he'll send out a replacement and I'll ask if I can have this one for a billy bargain discount.

I was on the Argos site looking for something completely different, which I did need (kitchen bin), when I noticed there was a 2 items for £15 in toys. Had a quick browse, and selected these.

The meccano 3 models in 1 really grabbed my attention.

My General obsession with all things Half Life related resulted in this very weighty tome being delivered yesterday.

It makes for fascinating reading, and it's made me start playing half life 2 again!

The wife will probably kick me out very soon!

You are lucky they are out of stock now.

The frame I got is this. The A2 size which you will need has perspex not glass in it.

Hey man your art deserves decent frames to protect it!

I've got a shop round the corner that does mine, £40 for the A2 size frame with the mount and that stuff they stick on the back to seal it.

How sturdily are these shipped? That group c print solves a birthday gift dilemma but it needs to survive airfreight
I have received all 3 of mine via fedex in v sturdy tubes, all the way to Toronto with no issues...

They do appreciate things hung properly too, no half measures or slap-dash approach.
