Is the German steel book much more collectable then?

I was trying to work out why it's £590 more expensive than this:-

Thanks, sorry did not bother looking at the link!.

Seems like a lot to pay, but if the collectors want to pay it, then pay it they will!

Nothing wrong with collectables of course, I should know judging by all the very questionable ones I now have!

Was hovering over a Gordon Freeman statue this morning to go with my Head Crab zombie!

Indeed. Something is worth what people will pay for it, I guess. Although I agree that it does seem rather a lot.

Spring assisted opening is wickedly powerful too.
Link please...

Aah, just seen you're in the US, and these would probably be illegal at home (UK).

Never mind frown

I wonder if I could buy one here (India) and smuggle it home innocently in a suitcase...?

Well, they're cheap enough you could try - currently $30 instead of $65 on amazon - http://www.amazon.com/Smith-Wesson-SWMP4L-Linerloc...

Trouble is, the end looks rather like, well, a Smith & Wesson.

Nope, just tried all my addresses and it appears to no be legal to send to any of them... I will put it on the wishlist for the next time I'm in the States - 30 bucks seems like a bargain! Thanks for the info though, very helpful.

eBay and USPS is an alternative that works.

I imagine that the novelty value far exceeds the actual value of these notes.

For my own amusement:

The Zimbabwean Dollar is currently being phased out and replaced with the US Dollar at as exchange rate of Z$35 Quadrillion to $1. At the current £:$ rate this makes the exchange rate to the Pound Z$55 Quadrillion to £1.

This would make the Z$5 Billion note worth less than one hundred thousandth of a penny.

Assuming that the banknote is 0.1mm thick then if you were to stack them one on top of each other until you had a stack 1 kilometre tall it would still be worth less than a Pound.

(Hopefully I've got that right, there were quite a lot of zeros to work with)

You aren't thinking long-term. At some point when Mugabe is pushing up the daisies they will replace foreign currencies with a new Zimbabwean currency, probably called the dollar, with a more normal exchange rate. At that point I waltz over with my hundred trillion, buy Zimbabwe and become Emperor for Life. As I see it my plan is pretty much foolproof.
