'needed' a 2nd TV due to house renovation (so far so not frivolous) and was thinking 50/55" as we already have a great panasonic 65"... well lots of reading later and tinkering with the budget and man maths came up with this.... Samsung UE65JU6400.

saw it advertised @ £1,599 @ John Lewis, got them to price match Debenhams (£1,525) and then did the £300 trade in of any 32" TV (offer ends today). Put in terms like that it really does seem quite reasonable and non-frivolous
I bought the same thing list night with the £300 trade-in discount.https://www.avforums.com/review/samsung-ue55ju6400...

Not strictly a frivolous purchase, as I needed a new wallet, but I had decided I wanted to get a Carbon or Kevlar one if I could. All the ones I'd seen were somewhat tacky and I nearly gave up, but then I came across a tiny firm in the States who hand make them ( Ragged Edge). Lots to choose from, but I went for Kevlar:
Quality is great, price was very reasonable, so I'm well chuffed.
As you'd expect its incredibly light and thin, in fact I keep having to check my pocket to make sure I've not lost it.
I've got the bug now and fancy one of the all black Carbon ones, and they do a customisation option too - I can see me ending up with 2 or 3 of them at this rate
For goodness sake, where is your 'My Waitrose' card?Quality is great, price was very reasonable, so I'm well chuffed.

Sorry forgot to post the picture of the socket set too, the quality is fantastic!
The socket sets are fantastic. It's the simple things like the knurled tops to the sockets so that they are easier to twist by your fingers. I can also confirm that the fit a caterham just fine And the fabric cases the socket sets come in The joker spanners look fatter in that image as that's the side with the black plate that extends into the head of the spanner so that you can hold a nut in place... I recommend the 8mm, 10mm and 13mm if you don't have them already, Se7ens are funny mix of things as you know. I think I spent more time finding things to ratchet with them than I did fixing anything!
Absolutely do not under any circumstances google PB Swiss....

I wonder if this guy is a member of PH?
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-bristol-34537...
A man living in a two-bedroom flat near Bristol has had to move house after winning a tank in an online auction.
Jeff Woolmer put a bid on the seven tonne ex-Canadian army tank on a specialist auction site.
He said: "I'd forgotten all about it and then at work I had a call saying 'Hello sir you've just bought a tank'."
With "tank parking a bit of a problem" at his flat, Mr Woolmer said he has had to move to a larger house on the outskirts of the city to park it.

Might want to give this a quick read before you do:http://www.kotaku.co.uk/2015/10/15/one-week-with-t...
I'm just a valve fanboy, not really read any reviews but my old gamepad (which was used rarely) was on its last legs so why not (also points at thread title). Of course with the delay I have actually purchase a wired 360 in the meantime but ho hum, I don't really like it.
I like the idea that I can simulate mouse movement, so hopefully an fps will become viable on my projector/sofa through this combo.
Only problem is I'm away on holiday for a week from today, not a bad problem to have I admit but I'll let you all have a review when I'm back.

Anyway I work in manufacturing and I like the idea of backing people on kick-starter who are having a go!
There is some warm fuzzy feeling about it for me

And I've now picked up a second pair in a boring green just for the frame so that I can put a Rose Prizm lens in.
Then carry the spare pair in the rucksack for bad weather/flat light/snow.
