A cousin of my grandmother invented the idea of free stuff in cereal back in the 60s, and then expanded the business to do world cup coins etc with Esso fuel in 1970. And onwards from there. Ended up with a huge marketing firm and made millions. Still got the complete set of 1970 WC coins in the loft.
So you are related to the Kellogg family?

Very exciting seeing the Railton Special in the old Birmingham Museum of Science and Industry not long afterwards, what a brilliant museum that was....

It still is.

Also worth mentioning the Coventry motor museum is one of the finest free attractions I have been to with Thrust 2 and Thrust SSC on display!!

I remember the white plastic football 'spot kicker' back at my Gran's when I was a kid. Just Googled it & can't believe it was 1974... I was 9.

Just remembered 'Choose Your Own Adventure' books which were available with not many tokens from Weetabix (I think?).

'The Race Forever' being the most 'PH', which I thought I still had somewhere but can't find it. Suspect it went to charity.... frown

Also I have three Rice Krispies racing cars - one is a Lancia Stratos, another a Zakspeed Capri - which my son now has in his car box. thumbup

(Will have to take my own photo of those, can't find 'em online anywhere!)

Had a few of those - but that was my favorite.

I thought the choice of Rally cars was a Saab or the Lancia - one came with a hot female co-pilot.

yes Saab or Lancia, then LandRover or Toyota for the safari bit iirc. Great book. They were all good, but that one stood out for me. (As an aside, 'Freeway Fighter' is worth a mention for awesome car-related roleplay books.)

actual lego models from kelloggs - in the early 80's. is it me or was lego so much more expensive (and certainly less of a range then)

glow in the dark stuff, hologramatic things- all I guess when the technologies allowed it years ago.

complete cardboard pirate ship you had to send off for- 1981- some sort of golden wheat ceral.

magic pen sets

all went down hill when it just seemed to be endless vouchers for theme parks.

I miss getting PG tips tea cards.
