Seems strange for an organisation that relies heavily on anonymity and secrecy to publish an advert.

If you are thinking Syria. Apart from the unmeasurable personal loss if one was caught I think the government would be more worried about its public backlash if ever a British soldier was publicly executed.
That's why (I think) they are holding back.

Or perhaps they have belatedly learned to keep their noses out of business that should be no concern of ours.

Where?

Also been used in a high profile ad campaign for the US Marines with some serious backpedalling after the backlash stating that the 'meeting' was before a judge and not, as inferred, St. Peter/Equivalent

Can't see The Regiment doing the same.

In to call boycowpoopie.

It's the equivalent of a Franklin mint commemorative plate, sold to the kind of people that collect knives.

Those who produced the item or the SAS?

Special forces engaging an armed terrorist cell can shoot to kill as far as I'm concerned. Although I'll never have any say in what happens I trust they will do so for their own safety.

But it's impacting on us more and more. I'm thinking of Tunisia as a very recent example.

It is this kind of triumphalist nonsense, revelling in death, which makes your nation second only to the USA as the focus of the world's ire.

Learn from the mistakes my country made twice during the 20th century, do not try and make the world in your own image.

That only impacted on 'us' because some UK citizens decided to go on holiday in a country where there is a significant, known, terrorist threat, including an organisation who has a declared hatred of westerners and our way of life. The FCO advises that half the country should be avoided, so why would you visit the other half and expect no trouble?

I don't mean to speak ill of the dead, but as a westerner you must surely accept there is a significant risk if you visit any North African country at this time.

Let's rewind things here, I think we can be fairly certain that the 'advert' or whatever you want to call it, is in no way an official SAS item.

Perhaps not, but it is a symptom of the mindset of the "great" British.
