OP, you have the seller's ID< send them a private message.

However, I will be surprised (but pleased) if you get the stuff back. Odd question but if she normally keeps the stuff in the cellar, why this time did she use the cat tree?

Well we got hold of him and he said there was nothing in the cat tree. Didn't surprise me really. End of story. Fortunately (?) for me none of the stuff was from me or my side of the family as we were never that well off!
Cat tree was in the cellar because the cat got run over - don't laugh you lot it's serious! It's a catastrophe, a sorry tail even.

It surprised me. I genuinely believe that people are decent.

Maybe she mis remembered where she put the stuff and it really isn't in the cat tree...after all,she is daft enough to hide it in the first place smile

When we go on holiday my wife hides her inherited jewellery (about 5k) somewhere in the cellar.

Last week she put an old cat tree on Ebay small ads and gave it away for FREE.

Today, preparing to go on holiday she realises that the jewellery was in the cat tree and she can’t find the number of the guy that drove away with it.

I laughed, now I’m crying… F-ing women.
When was your last holiday?

Why didn't she get it out when you got back?

How long has the cat tree been down there? Not long enough to for it to be a regular hiding place or she'd not have sold it...

Look for the jewellery in its usually hiding place.

Btw guys - £5k of jewellery could be not a lot of items!

I must admit that is one of my hopes/theories. She and her friend (female) have disappeared into the cellar. It might take them a long time though as it is 10m x 9m x with 3 rooms and storage under the stairs - the clutter of 35 years together.

Sell the clutter.

Raise a few grand.

Buy her new jewels.

Turn cellar into man-cave.

Win Win situation.

I only feel loathing for the wretches out there who made your wife feel it necessary to hide her property in that manner in the first place.

For her and yourself, I just feel sorry. Decent people trying to protect their property.

Post the phone number up if you have it, I'm sure a hundred or so different texts from PHers all saying 'give the jewellery back' would be a ball tingler.

I am to an extent surprised he didnt own up to it being in the cat tree, although I would be inclined to ring him up in a couple of days to "You sure it wasnt in there and your wife found it as its not elsewhere in our house"

Just in case he did have it and has been untruthful. He might have a change in heart and gives him a get out. Keep googling his phone number to ensure adverts dont appear.

He's unlikely to be stupid enough to advertise it, pawn shop would be my guess, it was free , even if he only gets £2000 for £5000 worth of jewellery it's a win
