Nah, not a Viennese waltz but I get your drift.

It is a rock anthem and the fairground organ or even circus music is a very big clue to how it was written.

There are more instruments in the intro (rhythms guitar chords, bass line and drums) but that is the dominant lead that we all recognise as soon as we hear it.

It is 87/88 vintage.

ETA: and as a complete giveaway, this intro is the outro to a Red Hot Chilli Peppers track...
