Other way around, Deutche Poste own DHL, DHL uk was also rebranded Yodel when they were bought out so they've obviously got some arrangement for the ground shipments from Europe.

I don't think that's quite right, DHL UK (parcels) still exists, Yodel was Home Delivery Network which DHL bought and re-branded. Yodel appears to operate alongside DHL Parcels in the UK, presumably as a cheaper and poorer performing relative .

DHL do more than just parcels of course, having concerns in 3rd party logistics, pub deliveries etc.
