UKers that wanted snow should have booked a tropical holiday, well almost.

Even the wife said earlier "I suppose that's it, we won't be getting any snow this year".

Oh well. Back to expecting the Durango to only be used for daily snotter/tip runs.

I went to France for my snow ration this year, was marvelous fun. This winter clearly isn't happening to the UK though so the winter tyres will be coming off the Audi this weekend.

A fairly pathetic smattering of slushy snow nr Macclesfield.

Enough to make one's feet cold and wet but not enough to cancel a day's work due to being "snowed in". Rubbish really.

We had about 10cm in Ottawa overnight. It's currently raining and then forecast to freeze by mid morning. That'll be nice

3 yrs ago there was a massive dump of snow in mid March (a friend took 12 hours to get 15 miles in Sussex) so I wouldn’t write off the winter quite yet!

And spring didn't come until May.

It's already Spring this year - not even cold in Moscow/Oslo/Helsinki etc. at the moment.

Looks like the jet stream is going to move - and start pointing the low pressure system train at the South. I guess it's our turn, it has remained fairly dry down here.

This means polar maritime air will be able to make incursions further North. So short-term snow and cold is possible, as usual higher elevation is best. Looks like some of you have had some already!

Meh.

ETA - Monday's storm in the South looking pretty bad (at this point). Suspect Imogen will be born!

Will Imogen will be a petulant storm with dramatic blasts of icy wind over its buxom front?

Currently she is forecast to divide her ire between us southerners and the French.

I wouldn't want to be on a cross-channel ferry hehe

Well been raining all day crap weather several rivers have burst there banks several roads are flooded and the mountain roads around the blackwood area are like rivers. Lucky enough not many houses are in a dangerous area most are a good 10-20 meters above the river level so not many flooded houses.

Our local river has flooded though and getting close to the newly refurbished pub which sits close to the river the rugby field opposite though as flooded.

This is the pub

the river cant be seen this is what its like today

Been very windy here this evening, due to drop through the night and into tomorrow but only a brief respite - extremely windy through tomorrow evening and Monday morning with gusts to force 12 coupled with a 9.1m tide. Great. I'm metres from the beach.
