D'you reckon it's time for the winter tyres yet?
I might chance another few weeks.
I'm yet to book into the garage to have them swapped over. I need to drive to the D/CH boarder tomorrow evening and then to Dresden in 10 days. I'm hoping it gets a bit warmer as I usually change over in the last week of Novemeber!I might chance another few weeks.

So what we thinking for the UK ? Puggit thoughts on snow before xmas possibility ???
See previous page. Building blocks are favourable, but the most likely mid-term scenario is Atlantic driven weather. Sods law dictates that the favourable conditions we have now, which if they arrived mid-winter would have us in the deep freeze, won't appear again!
The Telegraph this week reported the early arrival of the Bewick's Swan claiming we're facing the longest winter in 50 years [?!]

Well, if it's in the newspaper it must be true...

Who needs winter tyres! I might chance another few weeks.
that was a very slow drive home from work...
To be fair if we get anything like that over here this year I will definitely be investing in a set.
Shame that for the last couple of years we've just had wet & mild, the south east of the UK doesn't seem to see much snow action.

This just reflects the early onset of cold in Russia...http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/weather/11926752/B...

Weather to mostly stay as it is - neither here nor there. Wednesday sees a brief Atlantic incursion, but then expect the high pressure over Scandinavia to push back. Northern areas will feel this more keenly in terms of wind and rain, but everywhere should see some precipitation.
Of course, if this weather pattern existed around Dec-Feb this place would be fervently excited.
The good news is the Atlantic is not in charge, for once, and this type of pattern is hard to move away from. Again, the building blocks for a white winter are in place - currently.

Read comments above - signs are favourable but certainly nothing on the horizon at the moment. In fact many models are picking up likelihood of storms (windy rainy, autumnal type) next week.
Ball ache! I hate it when the wind comes. We live opposite fields and it whallops the front of our house. Condi said:
El Nino should give us a cold winter, no?
Yes but no but yer no, and there's other unusual conditions around this year as well, like the US west coast warm blob, and the Atlantic cold blob from last years cold North American winter.http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/paulhudson/entries/d99e...
Toss a coin, it'll be more accurate.
