I was caught in a blizzard on the M62 around Leeds at 7pm yesterday evening. Sideways 50p sized snowflakes and everywhere white!

I was in that too! And the intense direct sunlight shining right down the road and bouncing off the wet road surface and through the spray. What fun that was. So that's ice, sleet, hail, snow, rain, strong sunshine, mist/fog and thunder heard. All in one day.

The Tour de Yorkshire cycle race over the next 3 days might be fun over the hills!

Woke up to about 3 inches in Rossendale and just had a crap drive to work on the M62 to Leeds - crawling along, stop/start for nothing. I'd have not bothered and worked from home but I'd left my laptop at work weeping

I'm going to go back home at lunchtime though - god alone knows what the M62 will be like at 4pm on a bank holiday weekend in the snow. yikes

Well, that was a fairly grim trip in this morning. There's nothing low down, but above 600 feet or so the roads are cobbled with ice and there's a decent covering of snow. Usual number of bellends arriving at junctions at normal speed and wondering why they aren't stopping... rolleyes

Looks like one of those bellends ended up in your garden

There is hope that the sun/thunder thread will be getting warmed up soon...

We've had 2 good hail storms today, approx 1cm stones. Makes a good noise on Velux windows!

Unsurprising: people are stupid and Woodhead had a couple of inches of snow earlier today.

May, and it's been snowing for the last 2 days.

Nothing much to show for it as it's melting as soon as it hits the roads.

They'd be better selling that computer and looking out of the window.

Are they sharing a computer with the "intelligent" motorway people?

Allegedly a computer fault while testing out the process.

I suspect it was more likely someone hit 'confirm' when the pop-up appeared while showing someone else how to do it wink

Does hail count? Because it's bloody loud here right now.

We had some quite random snow yesterday. There hasn't been any (low down) for a while, but must have good some of these polar low pressures bringing snow showers through.
