I cannot imagine they would send us back. If worst came to the worst, there would be a German/UK working agreement I think. I cannot even contemplate living back in the UK where the cost of living is close enough to double what I pay here.

If not, I would get a German passport and enjoy duel nationality or marry my GF and and pay less tax!

Keep us posted. As far as I am aware you have had to have lived in Germany for 8 years and can speak German. I have another 3 years to wait which means marraige would eb the only option if the UK does get a vote in 2017.

Will do. We've lived here since 1997 and all speak perfect German, (well, apart from the wife but she's nice to look at).
