What does your user name mean, and why did you choose it...?

Room 101 was the torture chamber in George Orwell's novel 1984 (actually named after a conference room at BBC Broadcasting House in which Orwell had to sit through tedious meetings). Cars go 'vroom' and I put the two together. Don't know why, just liked the sound of it.

My original user name was Macadoodle, which was a nickname given to me by a mate when I was a kid. Fancied a change, so that's how I ended up with Vroom101.

I was nicknamed 'Funkmeister' for my deep love of funk music (used to be in a funk band).

Shortened to 'Funk'. No idea who gave me the nickname in the first place.

It's either that or I smell really bad.

The first ever forum I joined was on the website of a record company called Man's Ruin, famous for producing a weird little series of albums called Desert Sessions.

My name is Jonathan, and one of the early Desert Sessions tracks is called Johnny the Boy, so I made that my username forever.

My alternative username (mainly on gaming forums) is Slip de Garcon. I was playing a pirates game as the French, and chose the nearest name to Pantsboy I could think of in french, given that I was sat in my pants at that time.

I use it as I can pretty much guarantee that's it's an a available user name on forums, games ect.

Not very interest, but it also means that when I am online with others they don't struggle with what to call me........other than the obvious expletives
