My nickname Fish came from the Rudyard Kipling novel Captains Courageous. The 'little fish' was the boy who fell from a steamer and was hauled-out like a fishy and rescued by a schooner crew.

The -tigua part is because I spent much of my life in Antigua.

Or some such crap.

Not really, come on - play the same, everyone else is being reasonably straightforward and uncryptic - I've always wondered about Blib and if it's foreign or summat...

I'm all of half an inch shorter than one of my best mates, so was bestowed this nickname. (Pints is short for Pintsize. Geddit?)
smile

In truth, I'm not very tall anyway.

P.S. Hope EricMc pops in. Always wanted to know the origin of his username.

I'm old. Very old. But, not as old as MBH, obvs. When the first TVs with a remote control (two button) came out, my dad bought one. Blib was our family's name for the remote. As in, "Pass the Blib" or, when requesting that the channel be changed, "Blib it".

Or, I'm a black kid with a bit of snot hanging from my nose.

One of those two.

My eponym was a king of Gwynedd in the 5th century. The name means "impetuous anvil". I adopted it for a D&D character back in 1978 and have stuck with it ever since.
I am not welsh.

My name means:

'beaver'

bi?v?
noun
a large semiaquatic broad-tailed rodent native to North America and northern Eurasia. It is noted for its habit of gnawing through trees to fell them in order to make dams.

'king'

k??
noun
the male ruler of an independent state, especially one who inherits the position by right of birth.

Why? No idea, but I've had it for too long now to change it.
