Not sure if this has been done before but I've been wondering about some user names and what they mean.

I'll start with me...

Swampy1982 - So, the obvious part is the year I was born, perhaps the less obvious part is the Swampy bit. Some of you may remember a road protester back in the day, hippy looking chap with dreadlocks and generally grubby looking. Well, before I became a respectable upstanding member of society I had stupid hair, silly piercings and was generally grubby... so was nicknamed by my mates. Now it serves as a reminder about the fun times I once had in my youth. (note - I now shower twice a day, and am no longer grubby unless spending a day with the spanners)

Tell us about yours...

(edit - have asked to be moved to the Lounge, my mess up, sorry)

Ran a succession of Alfas over the last 20 or so years. This year, with no need to be practical any longer and suffering a late mid-life crisis/male menopause I swapped out for an Evora.

The main character in a book by one of the finest authors.

Albeit not his only name, but possibly his original one. We may never know.

And thus your user name serves you a timely reminder about the perils of speeding in Alberta?

/boosh.
This sound smore like a book than a user name! I'd read it

A timely reminder about the perils of getting caught perhaps....

I have a thing about lancia deltas. Not only the sporty ones. All of the gorgeous square rot boxes. At the age of 16 my parents moved to Scotland from Wales. At that time there was a series on tv called naked video, there was a sketch with a pathetic Welsh character called 'shadwell'.
I became shad. Bugzy was dead, but that's another story.

Funnily enough I was shifting some books about yesterday and saw the two Dirk Gently books, well overdue a re-read (and wasn't it 'svlad'?).

Roger Irrelevant is a Viz character who says and does bizarre and pointless things. Though frankly if you don't know that anyway you're not worth bothering with.
