Where To Buy/Hire Groom And Groomsmen Suits?
Discussion
My mate is getting married next year and I said I'd help find a suit for him and all of us groomsmen. He's not going to want to spend a bunch of cash on anything fancy and designer so general high-street will suffice. Also, not bothered whether he purchases a new suit or hires. This goes for all the groomsmen too.
So, where is the best place to try a bunch of suits on? Preferably a town/city somewhere in the south-east which has plenty of suits/hire shops we can go around in a day.
I know there's Moss Bros, but have no idea about any alternatives?

I was best man at a mates wedding a few weeks ago. He hired the best men a suit from slaters and whilst it was OK, mine was a pretty average fit and the trousers they gave me were too big. They also have some pretty rigid rules that you can only try it on the day before by 10am if anything needs changed resulting in me going to Basingstoke before driving to Scotland for the wedding which was a hassle.
If he had asked i would happily have stumped up the extra on top of the £80 hire fee and just bought something from M&S that I could have at least adjusted to me. I spent the entire day feeling pretty uncomfortable.

My advice would be to find a local firm rather than a chain. I wanted the experience of getting my wedding suit to feel special but couldn't afford a 'proper' suit. Found a firm called Affleck and Moffat (in Darlington so not relevant to you OP but hopefully you see my point) and they took the time to talk to me like a valued customer. Nicer suit than the obvious places for the same money

Mine was Greenwoods. Best man lives in a different part of the country so we could get the same thing in 2 different places and returned to 2 different places. It's cheap enough hire, looked good and there was no hassle on returnsWe used Youngs out of debenhams for ours after a good experience with them for a mates wedding. Great service and even ordered me an extra jacket as I'd lost some weight. They can do a roaming profile as well so each member can go to their local debenhams if you have people across the country.
