Land: Which includes a forest, lake and beach. I also have access roads to it, i.e like the basic infrastructure.
Bizarely the government have given me planning permission (which I didn't ask for) to build on it too.
Mental, given its effectively set in a national trust type land/location.
I don't really know what I'm going to do with it.

A large pillow for the dog to sleep on, a pair of sheepskin gloves for the dog to have as toys and £500 that I have to spend on the dog!!! If you haven't guessed, my Grandma was more of a dog person than a people person!
btw I did spend the £500 on the dog, he had a lovely break in Wales and was generous enough to take me with him

We inherited my mother in laws estate approx. 4 years ago which enabled us to now live mortgage free as well as purchase a brand new flat to rent out with some money left for a rainy day. We greatly appreciate/respect what we were left with and don't waste a penny (well, maybe a few were wasted) !!
Sounds like you wasted most of it, no hookers, drugs or fast cars?!Dad died in December last year; Christmas eve, everything has gone to the stepmum, I assume then when she dies that the house will be split between myself and my sister and probably her son.
She has recently asked both myself and my sister to compile a list of things of my dads that we would like from the house, I already have the family china and there is a family ring that I am waiting for.
Nan died a couple of years ago, as well as a small amount of money, she left me a unit that my great grand father made; it has pride of place in the lounge and houses the family china.

To be serious for once it is true that it does feel nice to have a bit of cushion, but that still does not stop me from working hardI have had a small amount of money from when my Aunt died a few years back and the trust to help support her was wound up. Not enough to change anything at all but enough to make the savings look a bit better. About to be eaten by UKPLC in SDLT on a house purchase though 
If you plan your life around the death of people who might leave you something in their Will I think that you have a bit of a mental health problem or must be the Prince of Wales, or Willy Wales. Yes there is perhaps a reasonable expectation for many, but the timing is a bit flakey as a rule. As such any potential inheritance should be a consideration but not an influential factor in your life. Plan to get nothing, have a rough idea what you would do if you did get something.

One day there may be something left to my siblings and I by our folks. It could be enough to pay off the mortgage, or to kick start a reasonable pension pot. I might be enough to pay for a BBQ and a bonfire. I and they have no idea what life will throw at them. The family are 100% behind the idea that you spend what you want of your own money and if there is anything left when you have gone great, if not go on you! Bottom line though whilst Dad will arrive at the grave with a 100% used body Mum has looked after herself well and could easily have another 20-30 years in her (we hope!) by that time I'd hope to be set up well enough that it really is just gravey if there is anything to come.
