Another guy; we both do the same job yet things always go wrong for him; his orders aren't processed, his orders are wrong, his paperwork is missing, his paperwork is late, he gets more complaints, there is more grief for other departments where his work is concerned, I don't get any of those issues and yet for him, it's always someone else's fault.

We work on a split level office. The upstairs, where I sit, is a suspended floor and it bounces. Especially when the chubby unit from HR comes waddling by.

More annoying though is the tt who sits a few feet away. he jigs his leg up and down and it makes the whole floor shake. My monitors wobble and it makes me feel sea sick.

Keep tell him him to pack it in.

Eugh.. 'Bruce' and another guy are now sat across the office conversing, basically trying to 1-up each other.

"Virgin are better, I've got Big Kahuma, 100mb, Sky Sports, the lot.."

"Naa you want Sky, when I got the new 60", I got the biggest Sky pack - Movies, Sports, Amazon Prime, dogs bks mate.."

I'd have to nominate the pompous nob who brings in his own coffee-making equipment.
That would be me thumbup. Office provides that god awful Nescafe instant slime so I have my own cafetiere in the office. I am a horrible coffee snob but unashamed

I'm close to doing this myself. I need a steady flow of coffee throughout the day and physically can't drink instant - less so the 5kg tub of Nescafe the office provides.

I don't mean a full-on Nespresso machine with pods and syrups - I might just buy a cheap little cafetiere and bring a small bag of freshly ground in each monday. We've got a water boiler thing instead of a kettle so wouldn't take much time to make a nice brew smile

I worked with someone on an oil refinery project who insisted they were 'a piping expert'. What?
piping is an absolute ballache.

i used to design pipeline repair tools ( pipe is leaking but we cant stop the flow) for oil installations. there is literally pipework everywhere.

the guys that design these systems and work out how to run fresh water/ sea water / drilling water/ drill mud//power/comms/production fluid / cooling/ firewater... all together in a confined space, are highly skilled professionals.

experts they are and deservedly so.
yep. My dads old mate from the US is a O&G pipe specialist. He's been retired for years (is extremely well off) and still gets calls for jobs to come do or advise on. You'd think he was worth his weight in pure diamond the way it sounds.

If these defence products are munitions, then if you've ever fired any at the landscape they do tend to re-design it somewhat, so maybe it's a relevant skill!
Actually, "landscape designer" on a business card of someone selling guns and bombs would be something I'd have a chuckle at if handed said card.

I might also be that nob. I get the fresh beans in every fortnight or so, grind them up at my desk and enjoy some quality coffee. Bought some Nescafe at home out of desperation last weekend.. Suffice to say I'll go without next time.

If anyone wants a bag of coffee from Pact for £1, let me know and I'll send a referral code. Bonus is I get one for £1 too! Make sure to cancel if you don't want to continue the subscription.

These are a good convenient one for the office, and keep the coffee hot.

By the way, you usually get them cheaper than that link, it was just a quick one I found. Sorry to head off topic.
