I know it’s a bit ‘marmite’, but I found Mrs Browns Boys great for good ol’ fashioned humour. Gets a bit blue at points, but there’s some very clever writing in it, especially earlier episodes.
I don't think it's so much marmite as some people just don't get the clever bits and can only see the in your face slapstick which can be understandably grinding.

It has lost a lot of its appeal from the earlier episodes.

As much as I admire the BBC for being able to appeal to so many, so often for so little, other than stuff like Car Share, I can't immediately think of much good recent comedy.

"Formed in 1977 in Coventry, England, they are an English 2 Tone ska revival band whose music combines a steady rock beat with punk attitude.
Jerry Dammers and his band mates achieved fame and notoriety with classics like 'Ghost Town' and 'Too Much Too Young".
"Well, that's true", I said to the waiter. "But it's not what I meant when I asked you to tell me about the specials".

Morgana Robinson's The Agency on BBC was pretty good - some very funny bits in that (in particular her Danny Dyer). If you enjoyed The Office you'd probably like this.
