An old one but a great one. Concorde just after takeoff. Sets off car alarms.

So sad it's not here any more frown

Saw it twice, once from a petrol station alongside the runway at Heathrow , heard it coming , where the 757s were at 300ft at that point on the runway Concorde was still on the ground screaming with 50ft of flame coming out the back

That's why even though the French one was on fire they couldn't stop it , their best hope was to takeoff and land , saddest day in aviation for Concorde

They a few years later at Legoland , it flew over and everybody and I mean everybody stopped and looked up until it was gone.

Designed by men with pencils smoking pipes and still the most beautiful jet to ever have flown , if they rolled it out of a hangar tomorrow as a newly designed aircraft people would still be amazed at its beauty

I worked at the golf club next to Leeds Bradford for a few years. Only time I saw Concorde up close was whilst playing one of my first rounds at the course. Walking down the fairway that runs parallel to the runway, Concorde was sat less than 150m away waiting to take off. I was playing with my boss (the pro) who advised "cover your ears crouch down". I'm not kidding, that thing, at full chat, at that distance made the ground shake! Although it sounds like a euphemism it actually made some golf balls drop out of my golf bag

This is where I was - https://www.google.co.uk/maps/place/53%C2%B051'28....

I used to live in Kingston and I was under the flight path for Concorde every Saturday. It would leave Heathrow at 11.20 on the dot (you could set your watch to it).

Such an epic noise. You could hear it coming about 30 seconds before it went overhead so I always ran out to watch.

Apparently they got priority for take off due to them bullying air traffic control because of their ridiculously high fuel burn even when just sitting around.

I did a 5 month stint for work (at the time) on the then being constructed World Cargo Center at Heathrow. The highlight of the day was always watching Concorde leave a filthy trail as it tore the morning air apart.

It never got tiring or dull. The closest I've ever been since then was BAe Warton watching Typhoons take off on my lunch breaks.

I used to regularly take a flight to Hannover that was always a couple of planes behind Concorde in the line to take off.
Mega noise smile, all the passengers would sit staring, mouth open, as the air crackled around us.

As a young teenager I used to go to Heathrow a lot plane spotting, travelling all the way across London on the tube ( now I struggle to get my 13 year old away from the XBox smile)
When Concorde took off it deafened me,even from the viewing area,or the car park roof, an amazing sight
