I saw the play in Woking theatre a few years ago. In the original play only one character died. In the version that I saw, the whole cast went over the top as the curtain came down.
I, and the rest of the audience, wondered how the cast would be able to take their curtain call. After all, they had all just been killed.
When the curtain went back up, the cast were simply stood there. Their faces had been whitened with makeup. In other words, they looked like standing corpses. The theatre was absolutely silent for about 30 seconds before there was a "sob". Within seconds the entire audience were bawling their eyes out.
