On the theme of water bombers.

You're on a remote stretch of the Trans Labrador highway when a truck and a grader have an accident causing one of them to go on fire - it's too far for a fire-engine to come, just divert a water bomber.

I enjoyed that.
+1

Don't know how much of a set up it was and who was fooling who but I thought that girl held the slide quite well... well almost. (2min 20s)
I was more than a little suspicious. However, it is more enjoyable if you don't question it.

A few years back I booked myself a course to learn to "drift around like Jeremy Clarkson".

A week later, with my wife in the passenger seat, I drifted around a roundabout. After we exited the roundabout, I said "What did you think about that?". At this point I was surprised that she hadn't been screaming in terror.

She replied "What?".

"We just skidded the whole way around that roundabout".

"Did we?"

Some women just refuse to be impressed by our manly prowess.

A Boston Dynamics robots demonstration at a show. 3 minutes 45 in there is a new bipedal bot on wheels that can jump, 5 minutes in there's a 4 legged robot on stage with him (Spot or Spot mini).

Yup, once they're refined expect them to be putting people out of work all over the world. Will work 24/7 without complaining or pay. Great.

On the plus side though, it looks like it can do the dishes and fight over a can of coke before falling over.

I wonder what job it'll do first, hand car wash, amazon warehouse, mass murder rofl

These robots are brilliant, but they have been around for a long time now and after, i assume, millions of $ spent, nothing has ever come of these developments.

Unless i'm missing something.

I think the closest they've come with regards to killing people (which these are probably designed for) is this

https://www.theguardian.com/technology/2016/jul/08...

The was a VW factory worker too that got grabbed and killed by a robot a couple of years back.

I'm thinking it's only a matter of time and we'll need to roll out Will Smith to defeat them all again.

I'm not worried unless the robots start talking with Austrian accents.
