Twins, who on here has them.
Discussion
Twin boys, now 24.
One is supposed to look like me, the other looks like the OHs father.
They don't really like each other, so much so that we sent them to different schools from 11.
One drives a GT6 Mk III and does stuff with computers, the other has a Prelude INX and makes coffee.
About the only time they ever meet is at Christmas.

Just had a quick look. This was a similar experience to ours. My two were born at 33 weeks and spent 4 weeks in NICU. Not a pleasant experience, especially the daily commute to dundee! I also thought I'd add, more to get it off my chest. I don't think I've ever been so knackered. I did 12 years in the RAF and this is harder than basic training and my three Iraq tours put together. The big difference is they constantly want to harm themselves in very inventive ways, instead of my experience of others trying to kill me!
Here's danger boy no.2 while no.1 laughs and points!

Monozygotic - one egg splits, identical twins
Dizygotic - two eggs fertilized, non identical.
There have been rare cases of identical twins being different genders, as environmental conditions on the womb can cause the foetuses to develop, differently. Very rare though.
Identical girls here - monozygotic, monoamniotic (one egg - one amniotic sack). Odds of the pregnancy are approx. 1 in 50,000 with a 50% chance of survival to birth.Dizygotic - two eggs fertilized, non identical.

If the egg splits in the first 4 days of conception with identical twins there'll be two placentas and two sacks (33% of identical twin pregnancies), day 5-8 one placenta and two sacks (66%), day 9-12 one placenta and one sack (1%) and later and they'll be conjoined...
16 weeks old, one is home and doing well (touch wood), her sister remains in NICU.
Have 5 year old boy and girl just now.
Not related but today we sent them in on crazy hair day, it was a 50p donation so off they both went with £1 each with instruction to hand over 50p and then they had another 50p for a cake at break.
When they were picked up this afternoon. the little lady told us she wanted a cake but gave her money so other kids could have nice water and sweets, our lad told us about his cake and he would like another tomorrow with his money that he gets..
These things melt my heart and I can only hope our little lady got it from us, on the other hand the little lad got it from me and I'd be in for a cookie as well....

It gets easier (hopefully has already...) from 3-4 ish they started to interact far more meaningfully so they play together and it's like always having a friend over.Gassing Station | The Lounge | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
