I also thought I'd add, more to get it off my chest. I don't think I've ever been so knackered. I did 12 years in the RAF and this is harder than basic training and my three Iraq tours put together. The big difference is they constantly want to harm themselves in very inventive ways, instead of my experience of others trying to kill me!

Here's danger boy no.2 while no.1 laughs and points!
Don't like to say this but...

...that's a mirror.

biggrin

I am also a twin (not identical, but look fairly similar, and have similar tastes), and my mum is fascinated by twins - even in her 70's she's rushing up to see them whenever she sees any.

Reminds me when I went to pick up a new mattress with my 2 sons, aged 6 & 4. It was bigger than I had imagined (I hadn't thought it thru in other words) so had to put back seats down, so had both boys in the front seat with the seatbelt on. Conversation went:

Me: If we get stopped by the police, don't even talk, I will speak to them.
6 y/o: You could say we're twins.
4 y/o: Why would twins have to share a seat? That's no excuse.
6 y/o: Siamese twins then.
4 y/o: But you're 2 years older than me.
6 y/o: We could say it was a very traumatic birth!

I'm an identical twin- we were 7 weeks early and born within 7 minutes so I was pretty ill, had to stay in an incubator for a couple of weeks!

I also didn't have a name for a few weeks, hence the username.

From a child's perspective it's wonderful if you like each other because you constantly have your best friend with you, you have a good opponent for any sport etc...

We do have different interests though, I'm the maths and sports kid, he's all words and music etc...

You do however have to worry about every bill twice at the same time which is a pain, and we argues about a lot of things too!

You do know there's only one of you really, don't you?

This is why you win all the arguments...hehe

Twin boys, non-identical, personalities are totally polar opposite, 20 months old.

One incredibly highly strung and still not sleeping through and one so very laid back that if we didn't wake him he'd never get up!

I'm so very, very tired.

You must be! I'm lucky in that they both sleep for a solid 11 hours each night. It's still knackering as this is catch up time. The personality thing sounds similar to my two. Ones mental and into everything and the other just sits quietly playing with his toys and occasionally laughing at his brother being daft. Brilliant to watch.

Now, my next question. What transport arrangements do the average PHer have in place for their toddler twins? I stupidly sold my Focus ST earlier this year after we bought a B-Max. Which is great but really is a bit small. We have a roof box though which means that when we do need to load all our kit then we have the space. I bought a Renualtsport Clio 200 recently as a second car, mainly for me to get to work in. Not ideal twin baby transport but I did want one and so bought it anyway. My plan, in the new year is buy another Mk3 Focus ST. I'd love an RS but can't be arsed with the waiting time.

I have an identical twin brother, we have fairly similar personalities though we're not completely interchangeable, we share many of the same tastes, both keen gamers, musicians and into cars and bikes. We're on different career paths but I see a lot of the same professional qualities in my brother as I see in myself. We do totally different jobs yet I think our approach to them is very similar.

It really is a case of growing up with your best mate, you know there's always at least one person who has got your back. I don't believe in this "telepathy between twins" bullst, but spending so much time with someone who has an identical genetic makeup and was raised in the same environment, you can rely on their thought process and intuition to be similar to your own, to the point where you can be reasonably assured of what the other is thinking when you're both engaging in a given situation.

The joy of endless arguments about nonsense... and the guarentee if they are ever given an option for anythnig at all, they will pick the opposit.. gahh!!!

love em to bits smile
2 boys, 10 next year. One academic, trys hard, but uncoordinated and a bit clumsy. The other good at sport, lazy, stubborn and stroppy.
Love them both to bits, love having twins, everything after early years is easier and just a bit more fun.
Wonderful kids.

That's as good an explanation as I've read. There's not a scrap of verifiable scientific evidence of any telepathy between twins, and those who claim to have experienced it are mistaking exactly what you describe.

My 17 year old boys are identical mirror twins. One is left handed and the other right handed. Their hair swirl direction is mirrored and tooth eruption was too(same tooth, same time but opposite side). Also some behaviours are mirrored. For a simple example, as toddlers, one would spin on the spot only clockwise and the other only anticlockwise. Never stops seeming weird.

Boy/girl here and possibly could be 19 or 20 months, I cant remember lol.

It is very hard, but very rewarding watching their personalities come through.

Our girl is 2 minutes older but seems to have gotten more in the womb as shes alot more resilient to colds etc and my word does she eat. Every meal she leaves an empty plate.

Her brother eats like a sparrow but has the energy of someone on Bath Salts.

She very much tolerates her brother and all interactions and play are on her terms, he just adores her and follows her everywhere like a little puppy.

Hopefully when the get a bit older this wears off with her as its quite sad watching his face when she goes off on one because he tried to high five her.

Possibly the worst we've had so far is both of them having an ear infection and going bats@$ t crazy when put in the cots and only sleeping when being held, aswell as only wanting me to hold them.

I can only liken it to the sleep deprivation torture the special forces do in training incase they get captured.

No but I've been out with a twin and a triplet. Both were mental and able to cause massive arguments with the other sibling and then be absolutely fine 5 minutes later. Ruined lots of nights out

I have a twin sister. My mam said that raising my younger brother was a lot harder as he always wanted attention, whereas we always seemed content with each other's company.

I'm not sure my sister, who has recently had identical twins (so unrelated to her being a twin) is having the same experience. Haha.

My two best mates are twins (not with each other), I've worked with quite a few twins, and a few of my mates have had twins too. Maybe we attract. Or maybe I'm just not as special as I originally thought. 😢

I think you're right smile twin one has found his next level scream. Blood literally curdled. The reason? Twin two dared to hold one of his slippers, he wasn't even wearing them! Chaos then ensued when Twin two stole Twin one's dummy and ran around giggling whilst twin one chased him. Twin two thinks it's the funniest game in the world whilst twin one thinks his world has ended.

It's hard not to laugh.
